    What about knocking marines back with Onos stomp, so they fall to the ground and have to stand up before they can flee ?


    I had recently a play on Mineshaft, evolved to Onos and came into a small fight at 2-5m range - 2 marines vs me and I lost.

    Well, there is no sprint for Onos and they could easily outrun me as I couldn't stomp them :S Those resources were not very well spend in that moment :( ^_^

    Does Stomp even do anything to marines? Didn't look like that in the changelog.

    When I saw the Drifter in the current Phantasm menu, I thought we'd be able to +use the ghost model to become a fake Drifter as a player, although it probably just means it creates a fake Drifter for the Alien Comm to move around.

    The powerpacks ideas are good but one. The automated connecting to the closest building. That could provide problems if alot of buildings are around to get the right one connected and dropping the powerpack so that it is hidden/not blocking.

    The power grid system is great, but it just seems like it is complicating everything. Isn't there a simple solution?

    I hope the Comm. is able to "Reroute Power", as it gives more flexibility when placing Power Packs in clustered building spaces.

    it is complicated system which just painfully slows the gameplay. which is the point, as charlie said he wants ns2 to be slow pace game compared to ns1. The question is, is it actually good idea? i doubt it. And with the recent "power packs", its rather patching the problem without actually fixing much, aside from making things even more complicated..

    power grid system needs to control lightning of the room, doors and some other minor things. I remember reading somebody else thread about this same idea, which had some great ideas but I don't know where that thread is now. But infestation and power grid needs to be redesigned.

    The reason it is not played too much is the issue with spawning at server and warehouse. If you spawn at warehouse, it is pretty much game over for whoever spawns there. If aliens spawn at server, they can't cyst out through to elevator, so they have to go through tram tunnels and struggle getting out of the server room.

    It is a map that maybe could be balanced by setting warehouse/server to alien only and shipping/repair to marine only starts, and fixing the infestation cysting issue between server and elevator. It's almost like the map doesn't join properly so the infestation refuses to cross through the door.

    The new gorge build menu is broken to me...

    I can bring it up by pressing 2, but then I can jam 1, 2 or 3 and actually NOTHING happens. When pressing 1, the menu closes but I can't place any cyst, I actually can't see the ghost model and when I press MOUSE1 I fire my primary weapon... :S

    Pressing 2 does nothing, the menu stays open and that's all.

    Couldn't figure out whats happening when I press 3 as I couldn't play for that long for now :D

    Oh nvm, the problem was caused by the menumod ( for build 197 ) :) It works fine without the menumod.
