Those shots are great! I'm not sure if its just the angle, but I can't tell if there is a pipe below the resource node or not to explain where the resources are coming from.
If there is then that's great, it'd be sweet if it there is steam/smoking coming out of it to give it a more immersive effect, if there is not you should try it out if possible.

Nope. I think I was waiting on an idea that cool. Thanks, Heroman. I'll definitely do something along those lines.

Something along the lines of how it is done in Alien expansion in Tram, tis a shame that the map is pretty unstable right now.

I don't know about that. It seems like he put quite a bit of time and effort into it.
It's really miraculous honestly...the skill and determination it took to deliever such a thing.

Lets just say that if I had mapping skills one tenth as good as Asraniel's ascii skills, I would be the center of a bidding war between Epic Games, Valve, and Dice for lead level designer.
I'm confused as to why you're using a texture which has black squares on it. It really needs to be a translucent texture with something behind it if you're going to use that style. On a 2011 game it just looks awful.

Not saying you should brighten the map up though, I'm assuming once the main-menu is reworked we might see some better control over global gamma\brightness-settings for the folks who aren't as keen on NS2's inherent darkness.

I would trim the grate at the green line and remove it on the red side. It looks like you were being lazy and just ran the pipes through the grate which definitely is below the visual standard of the rest of the map.

Love the new topo artwork (looks great and reminds me of an expanded version of the originals!), although I wasn't sure what rooms were what in the later pictures. Do you have a rough percentage of how far done you're with the map? Looking forward to playing it.

With the amount of space you've got available to you below the resource points, i'm sure you can come up with something really creative.

I'd say a strong 40%
this says 50% but its more like 40% because of the attention I pay my hallways.
