Hey guys!
Subnautica is currently in Early Access and as such you may from time to time encounter bugs and in the worst case, crashes. If you have issues with stability of Subnautica, please post your issues with as much detail as possible (video/screenshots/descriptions), followed by the following requested information:
Example Topic Title:
[Crash] Open my Locker and Crash! [Version Number]
1) Please run dxdiag.exe (search windows for it) on your systems and hit the button 'save all information' in the bottom right. Save this file for later.
2) Navigate to your Subnautica Folder in Steam (should be steamapps\common\Subnautica)
3) Open the Subnautica_Data folder and grab a copy of 'output_log.txt'
4) Upload all the text of these to something like http://pastebin.com/ and post the public links to them with your forum posts.
These 2 files will GREATLY help us in tracking down issues with Subnautica. Thanks!

We've also got a very similar guide with pictures for each step on Steam.
And as in every good tech support:

Comments
I encountered a crash with the current non-experimental Subnautica build on Steam, which is listed as "Early Dev Build 15170 Mar-15". This was after about 1.5 hours after playing a loaded save game. I was in a Seamoth at the time of the crash, and was skirting around a red grass area at >100m depth. I was in reasonably close proximity to a Cyclops, which was near the edge of my view distance.
My full dxdiag log is here: http://pastebin.com/0aV8xEsg
The output_log was far too big to paste the whole thing, so I only included the beginning and end.
The output_log beginning is here: http://pastebin.com/BuETVjk5
The output_log end is here: http://pastebin.com/eJbURu5e
Subnautica is absolutely wonderful to play, so I hope posting crashes and bugs makes your lives easier!

Really not expecting much help here from the looks of the "support" forum thread but i just plopped down cash on this game and all i get is a nice... clean... white screen of death. ANY help would be greatly appreciated
PLEASE POST YOUR OWN TOPIC
It keeps this thread uncluttered. That said I'm kindly sort and am on vacation this week soo...
@plofkonijn - looks like ht game engine, cannot use your sound drivers. If possible update your drivers. The error is: FMOD failed to initialize ... A call to a standard soundcard driver failed, which could possibly mean a bug in the driver or resources were missing or exhausted
@DoomCannon Your issue appears to be that you cannot compile shaders. Generally this means either have bad shaders or a video card driver that is broken. Please update your drivers and verify your install. It should fix things.
Failed to initialize Direct3D.
Make sure you have at least DirectX 9.0c installed, have drivers for your
graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration
in display settings.
InitializeEngineGraphics failed
Any helpful fixes or ideas? Computer meets minimum requirements and have DIrect X 11
First love the game so far. Second I had a crash during game play in Creative mode, in v. 25519 Dec-2015. Information links follow.
Output_Log: http://pastebin.com/fRwnapXP
system info: http://pastebin.com/66bbYzjq
Details:
Crash error occurred 'randomly' while trying to install an Air Lock to a Moonpool in creative mode. I had activated the building tool in the moonpool area, and selected the air lock. There was a solid curved corridor connecting a straight corridor and the moonpool. Exited the moonpool area and went into the curved corridor. Turned character back towards the moonpool to try and create an air lock and the crash occurred.
No other 'extra' application were running along side Subnatica (Processes include: Avast Anti-virus, and general Windows background functions).
Thanks for the game so far!

I've tried the ensuring everything seems up to date, closing everything else, the recommended d3d launch option, tiny and native and other resolutions, windowed and fullscreen, even overclocking the cpu; in many combinations; to no avail.
Output log + Dxdiag: http://pastebin.com/2m7ChLix
I had no issues before H2.0, is there any way I can revert to a previous version of the game?
output log http://pastebin.com/WZ3WX31E
cant get a Dxdiag but the game worked before just fine but now wont load past the loading screen
Game crashing after scanning 2nd seamoth part or 4th base part (full CTD).
Extremely long load time when opening game (45minutes), then once loaded runs fine until crash.
Playing, then game totaly freeze and W7 also. Need to reboot the Computer.
Re launching subnautica, my saved game deasapear !
I have an F:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\Slot0005 subfolder witch correspond to the time of the crash.
Ancien subfolder Slot 001-2-3-4 exists (but are linked to the previous version before "farming update")
So :
- http://pastebin.com/VjtaZVpk for dxdiag.exe
- http://pastebin.com/uQEvwxrC for output_log.txt
- https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_WCRYIXHeOJSUs3V0M0LTFDV0k/view?usp=sharing for the subfolder slot0005
Without my saved game, I am very disappointed to play and to aid to debbug...
Thank.
(amazing game, I love it)
Thank you .
Sorry for my bad english .
First, try switching to our experimental version: http://subnautica.wikia.com/wiki/Experimental_Mode
If that doesnt work, swich back to regular & follow our troubleshooting guide: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=448862051
Specifically the Direct3D section and let us know if it works.
Now another update and I still have same issue.
I can run the game RIGHT up to the point that I jump in the water (no matter how) Then screen goes black and i can hear myself drowning. I suppose I am back in the ship but it is still a black screen.
Output_log -- http://pastebin.com/3yBLUS2J
DxDiag --- http://pastebin.com/F0ELER7C
I have really enjoyed the game. Not happy that I am unable to play. I hope it is something easy!
Thanks in advance~!

I got all my Error Files listed in one Folder: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/l7790ff51zhsr/2016-03-16_181122
Output_log -- http://pastebin.com/5gHS2AWi
DxDiag --- http://pastebin.com/a1eFwYjA
The game won't even open, and an output_log.txt file doesn't even exist (I'm guessing it's because the game itself never opened and created that file)
Everything on my computer meets the system requirements, and I've tried everything on the troubleshooting page.
DxDiag: http://pastebin.com/J0dFRBEX
Please help me figure out what's wrong, thanks!
Hi there. Your SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio Driver for Windows 7 is 11 years old (dated 4/19/2005). You should try updating this and see if you get any improvement.
Okay, I've updated everything and the game still refuses to open. I've never had a problem with any other game before. What more can I do?
Crach my game every time I approach biome red grass can you tell me why ?
more the game detects the wrong graphics card (I have radeon HD 7670 and it detects me a radeon HD 6800)
thank you ^^

So I've tried putting -force-d3d9 into the launch properties and got the error
Switching to resolution 154x0 failed, trying lower one
All resolution switches have failed
Screen: could not switch resolution (154x0 fs=0 hz=0)
When starting up normally it starts up in a really small window that doesn't have any display, it only has the option to minimize and exit, which crashes it.
On experimental is plays the music and just sits there in the same looking window, it doesn't seem to have loaded any of the game and just played the music.
I've tried multiple reinstalling multiple times, and deleting the appdata folder for unknown worlds.
I played the game for 6 hours directly after downloading, but after that it started happening.
