The game seems to freeze up on me constantly, to the point where I actually feel lucky if it crashes, because at least then I'll have an output log.
Driving the Cyclops, surfacing when swimming, going underwater when swimming, basically any sort of moving around will cause the game to hang. Sometimes waiting for a bit will work and things will resume, or it freezes and I have to use the Task Manager to end it.
I tried updating my video card driver and instead of freezing up in around a minute, it froze up barely 20 seconds in.
I'd appreciate any suggestions. (Just... remember to dumb them down a bit )
Hi, the game is perm freezing on survival mode after 5mins or if i go more than 100m from the starting pod. on creative mode i can go miles and miles and it doesnt freeze but if i build its 50/50 if it freezes, moonpool is instant freezing. i've tried reinstalling subnautica twice. I dont get a crash log or anything when it freezes, i've tried waiting it out see maybe it'll recover but a hour and half and nothing. when it freezes memory isnt capped out pc runs fast and smooth. so any ideas?

just thought i'd give a update, i've resolved this issue with changing the launch setting to -force-d3d9 works like a dream now.
hello from france , i have a problem ,i have crash when i move, first , i hadn't too much crash but now i travel 1 metter and then i crash, i give oyu the link to someone who had the same problem and posted it in this forum last year.
i don't understand, i have all necessary components
Okay so I run Subnautica on a Mac just updated my OS from Yosemite to Sierra. And now my game is crashing after only a few minutes of playing and/or just straight up won't open/crashes immediately after opening. I'd try to give you guys more information, but I can't find the files on the Mac version that you're looking for. Is there something I can do to make it more stable? I was just getting back into it and I'm really sad that I can't play anymore until it's fixed...
I've been having similar crashes both with this patch and the previous version. 2-3 minutes of moving around with heavy chop and then a flat crash. It's worse with vehicles than with swimming, but even swimming breaks it.
The first time I got it was right after I went to Aurora for the first time, and it persisted until I did the "fix" where you dump your cache files which fixed it. After that, I went to the floating island and the problem came back.
Unsure the specific cause, but it seems to be loading certain areas and then leaving them (in my experience), and has made the game unplayable.
Both are the same crash bugs, and I can constantly replicate with my save game. As soon as I move out of my little base it freezes and creates a crash dump.
Starting up the game, everything is fine. A little bit of FPS drops which is quite odd when having a GTX 1080...
Okay, loading into the game, I can immediately see that the terrain is not loaded properly, ie: parts of the terrain are split, texture repeat, and a flat wall drop off.
Skimming around in the Seamoth, I get quite a few FPS drops, dropping from 120~ to 1-25~.
Finally, after a bit of exploration, the game crashes and I'm left with this error message: https://gyazo.com/cf6979783b325a1aa857ddc5f515d7f7
Just had a crash in SN. I have noticed that since the precursor sable update I often get the game frezze for 2 or 3 seconds, but do not result in a crash, until today.
I was just swimmign in the kelp forest.

I have tried uploading the Output Log to pastebin but it states the amount of text is too large to do so unless I pay for a pro account, and pastebin can go take a long run off a short pier. I'm not paying simply to be able to paste some text. I was going to paste the text here but there's a huge amount.
Crashing just like the others are reporting on many, many websites and forums. Here are my files. Hope you guys get this fixed soon. BTW. Thanks for a great game. Please fix it.
Crash happens after about 20 hours of game play. Up until then things are fine. After then certain areas and biomes cause the game to start stuttering, eventually leading to a CTD. Happens every time, unplayable at this point.
CORRECTION - not unplayable, just has to be tweaked a little, early access growing pains. Hope a fix comes sooner than later, but until then this works.
-navigate to your world save directory Steam/Steamapps/common/Subnautica/SNAppData/SavedGames
-inside your save slot folder Slot000(some number) delete the folders CellCache and CompiledOctreesCache
However, it only works for about 5 hours at a time and it resets all biomes loot. Really not that huge of an effect when you already have unlocked most of the blueprints. Also, if your base is partially in the environment somehow, meaning that you built it into the side of a cliff or onto some type of fauna, once you use this fix the terrain, etc. will clip into your base. It actually looks cool in mine but it could cause some serious issues.
Was adventuring fine, until I noticed a massive frame rate tank which led to a freeze/stop responding message. I let it calm down saved and then it locked up and crashed to the desktop. Now, every time I load the save I can't move away from my base, otherwise it'll do it all over again. All the while with nothing running except steam in the system tray.
I enjoy the game, and will try my creative save to see if the problem persists. I did recently try the experimental version, but was having problems in the active lava zone loading in the world, so steam reverted me back to version 42313. I believe the experimental version was 42626, but I'll try clearing my cashes as well and see if this helps any. Hope this was helpful, and that the issues can be arrested soon. I'll post my findings if I learn anything..
Subnautica has recently started acting weird after 11 hours. I sometimes get a slight stutter but nothing more.
Now whenever i approach the island, the game freezes for a moment, then freezes again and crashes.
I've checked cache integrity, checked drivers, my pc is perfectly capable of running the game with no problems in the previous 11 hours of gameplay.
Fixed everything in my game by clearing my game cache, frame rate is a bit lower still but not by much. Which warrants an explanation of why this issue has stayed around for so long when if the devs just make all dropped items de-spawn after a period then it would stay cleared. At least paying some mind that for me after about 10-15 hours of game play I no longer could play which is a massive shot to the foot for the game. Features are nice but stop being important when you lose the ability to play because of carelessness.
I was having problems crashing all the time and found this thread very helpful. However when I deleted both CellsCache and CompiledOctreesCache my homebase had coral in the middle of the base (where all my lockers are and the fabricator). I replaced only the CompiledOctreesCache and the rock went away. Deleting just the CellsCache directory worked better since I'm no longer crashing and can enter my base rock free. :-)
After getting the radio message from the Sunbeam about their landing the timer started. I started heading that direction and the game kept crashing as I traveling there. I would get about halfway there while driving the Seamoth and the game would crash(when trying different ways of getting there it eventually would just freeze instead of crash).
Since I have built a Cyclops and I have placed many furniture in it the game started to be instable. A bit later I have built a very large base with about 50 habitat. Now, if I visit this station with my Cyclops, the game crash in every 2-4 minute. It seems to me the game can't handle too many objects in one area.
Crash near precursor gun base, bottom of the mountain
Hello, I experienced a crash Driving to the mountain base in my seamoth to find more fragments, I have a cyclops, A prawn. a base with plants and lots of storage to hold my cabinet of gold..
After the Precursor Update my game tends to crash while I'm in the Seamoth. I'll be going somewhere and the image will freeze and the audio will run the Seamoth movement sound. Sometimes it catches up and continues fine, other times it crashes. This specific time I had just gotten out of the Seamoth and it crashed.
It was loading in the Gun island (forget name of base), while on my cyclops. I usually have lag when loading in a bunch of area anyways, but this was a big lag spike. It crashed after the lag spike.
Edit: I can duplicate the crash apparently, so let me know if you need any additional information or have a fix for it. Thanks
Hey there, I freaking love this game so much. I bought it 28 hours ago, and I already have 17 hours played. However, just now I've started getting crashes... constantly. No matter what I do, it keeps on crashing 10-30 seconds after I load up the savefile.
