Just saw Drunky's pic and "hoi hoi!" maybe for that outdoor area you could do a forcefield type affect with clip brushes.... dunno how exactly but basically have touch activated graphics that appear when you hit the clip brush defining the edges of the forcefield...... at the least it would be prettier than grating, but still impose that all too necessary limit.
Or you could just make it look like all this goes on in a big glass bubble.... maybe even have a big person watching it all in a relatively hard to see part of the sky brush.

As the outdoor's area in ns_hera is now accessible for the players, this is why i make one (maybe two) in my map. the thing i will do to block the skull/lerk/jp/etc is that the top of the mountain will not be accessible because it will touch the "sky ceiling". No kind of forcefield barrier cause i dont know how to do that (and how it could looks.. and i just dont want one <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> ). This will not be very "realiste" but it will be fun (well..i hope).
Hmmm...I've never finished a Half-Life map in my life, my C:\maps\ directory is filled with cool little bits. I usually work on a room or a hallway, find out I messed up the geometry or have no idea where to go, and it gets scrapped.
Anyway, can't wait to see more of co_ether, I like that style (looks a bit like core, which has superb lighting).

I come up with nice ideas, but they never get finished...I'm not that good at making the textures fleunt , but some of these are amazing. Thats the best outdoor bit in any map I've ever seen, and I love the creepy caves <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Keep it up

The colors are not yet corrected fully. (looks a bit better in-game) Also this was the old version of my map so texture alignments aren't that nice. I also corrected the wierd glass. Not it's not as 'shiney' as it is on the pics.

Hmm, so, what can I say. I know what you are trying to reach, but you really should practise more. Also choose your textures wise, and don't use to much light.
I like the style and architecture but you should work longer on certain areas. Inspire yourself by looking at other maps.
Yeah i know. I've been making the main structure on paper but i contantly change my map and retourches it. I added some new rooms and made som small twists that i think looks cool. I allready touched up the hive and other areas. I haven't have the third hive yet but it's gonna be much better than the one on the picture. I have a clear idea of what it should look like. Just hope i can transfer it to WC <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Heres a shot of the dorm area , where one of the nozzle is situated . I plan to have some of the doors open to show a bit of detail, if ressources allow it. (im gonna fix that ressource tower , looks a bit weird with the leg sticking trought the floor) cheerz , later !
