O.K. I believe it was Monse that was commanding this game. We were playing on NS_Caged. As soon as I spawn, monse tells us to buidl an infantry gate and than get the hell outta the marine base. We goign to use the daring tactic of building a marien base in an alien hive to deprive them of the opportunity to gain all three hives in the late game (take note). Its risky, but sometiems it works. We finish building the gate and than rush off to a hivem leavign flay behidn to defend monse. We reach it and just as we clear the room (which was not yet infested), Monse dies back at the Command COnsole as Flayra falls to bob rush. Well, were mighty scared now. Theres four of us stuck in a hive room with no commander and no infatry gate, all within the first 5 minutes of the game. We take up positions in corners and high places and wait. Wait for our doom. On the plus side, they dont know where we are in the level so were safe till they find us. First, a bob comes through the hallway and is blasted by our combiend LMG fire. Well, this is bad news. Now the entire alien team knows our location. Within a minute, silverfox pops out of a vent and rushes towards me, into the center of the hive where he is shot to pieces, but not before taking down a man. Were down to three now. My two remaining team mates run off down a hall to the left and I receive news that one of them has died (sorry guys, forgot which one). I run in and we find ourselves stalked by 3 bobs. Im down to my last 20 rounds. I'd like to tell you that theres a happy end to this story, but we were subsequently mauled. Happy Happy!
after reading everything in this topic, wow, make me want this game even more then i did before. There isn't a word for how good this game is that is how good it is well i should say sounds cause i haven't played it yet hope i will soon along with all of you. i will make a word up pergolent. that is perfect good and excelent combined it is just amazing. these guys got a very good skill it is making a awsome mod <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
I was a marine on ns_tanith (eh .. I think) and I weas trying to take up the commander position. I get in there and try to build .. but nothing happens. Turns out on the map we're on, theres currently a bug where you cant build anything at the marine spawn. So, after about a 2 oe 3 minute discussion, I finally figure out I need to build a new marine base .. and fast.
However, my 'Teammates' had other ideas and literally went in oposite dirrections from each other.
I kept asking where a good location for a second base would be and everyone kept saying they didnt know. So, fine ...
Most of my team mates happened to be in a rather large room and I say "Fine, heres our new base, build!".
Well, we get a new CC up, a new Infantry Portal .. then we started to get attacked like crazy .. turns out, we built our new MB .. right around the corner from their Hive.
Franticly, my team trys to hold our position and does quite well. I'm dropping ammo and health like mad, their trying to get into the hive room and take out the Hive.
We manage to break through and put a pownding down on the aliens. They're hive goes down. I yell out over the Voice Com 'Everyone back to base!'. I finished researching the Siege Cannons and I place one in the center and ontop of a box (so it has nice LOS (Line Of Sight) all around). With the Siege in there and the three other turrets we had, I figured we were good to go. We start an attack on another Hive.
My team gets there, clears out the builder trying to fortify the Hive and waits for me to drop a turret factory - which I do soon as the coast is clear. I place down about 3 turrets and once they were built, started to fire on the Hive. Thats when all hell broke loose.
Some how the Aliens managed to save up enough resources to evolve into a few lvl3's (Fliers) and lvl4's ('Blinky'<!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->. They assaulted our base and the turrets that were attacking the Hive at the same time. I was trying to support the marines at the Hive and the few that had respawned back at our base.
The Hive eventually goes down and I tell them to high-tail it back to base to back up the rest of thier squad. A few dead aliens later, they were reinforcing the 'new recruits'.
We only had one Hive left to go! My marines were acting like teammates and I though we had it in the bag ... when for some reason one of the three desided he wanted to go in a different dirrection ...
I'm yelling over my VC, but he apparently doesn't care. So I go back to the other two, who were just about to the last Hive ...
When they reached it there were webs, defence chambers, movement chambers and turret chambers <b>everywhere</b>.
The two had been running towards the hive and steped over a few webs, well - between the turrets and the 3 or 4 lvl1's around them ... I had some 'new recruits' at my base to resupply.
Anyway, I go back to the 'lone marine' and some how ... someone else seemed to have joined up with him. They were trying to make it to the Hive but some lvl1's eventually nailed em.
There I was, with a batch of new recruits. So, I say over my VC 'Shotties for all!' and they cheer and sing and dance ... Well, maybe not sing and dance, but they cheered. They load up and I say over my VC 'stay together this time!'
While they're in the last hallway before the hive I notice a ... little something on the ceilling and yell out 'LVL1 ON THE CEILLING! LOOK UP!'
...
All I hear is 'What ...? Huh ...? Where?'
So, being the good commander I am, I sellect all my marines and right click on the lvl1 on the roof.
Im greeted with a sound clip; 'Attack the enemy!'
And a nice little Icon is displayed over its head for all to see. Funny thing is though, when I give commands, I tend to .. click alot - so it sounded more like this;
'Atta-a-a-attac-attack-a-a-at-att-attack th-attack the ene-at-at-attack the enemy!'
Heh. Well the lvl1 dies and a marine says over his VC 'Thanks Commander,' (I make them call me that, its a power trip <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> ) 'Your a life saver!' (Eh, thats what I'm here for - right? <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo--> ).
Eh ... where was I ..? Oh ya - They get in there and just start to blast things away with those shotguns, I mean ... <b>*BLAM* *BLAM* *BLAM* *BLAM*</b>. There's nothing left in that super fortified Hive room after about 3 minutes of my marines going <i>off on it</i>.
There was something amiss though ...
The Hives were gone, yet, the Aliens just kept coming back. So I say over my VC 'Everyone .. uh ... lets go to ... wait a minute - <b>we're under attack! get back to base!</b>'
They high tail it back and theres really not much for them to clean up, seeing as how the Siege and 4 other Turrets did most the work.
They kept attacking us from behind though - where the first hive was at originally. So, I order my marines back there and find a sneaky little builder had built a new Hive! I was a bit upset with this so I say over my VC 'Everyone back to the first Hive and kill anything that moves!'. A few smart ##### started to attack each other because .. well - they were moving, but once one or two of them died, they quickly stopped.
I had had enough and our resources were well into the hundereds. So I said 'Screw em' and placed down a turret factory, once that was build, I placed down 5 turrets into the room and said 'Build!'.
5 Minutes later the game ended and fun was had by all ... well .. at least for the marines, I know that!
yup my jokes will keep it up <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

The level1 alien makes the perfect scout/ambusher. I entered a room near the marine spawn in ns_nothing, and decided to try and take out some marines when they tried to claim the resource node in the room. I climbed up to the ceiling directly over the doorway and waited... mere moments later, I heard the tell-tale sound of marine footsteps. He passed through the doorway, completely oblivious of my presence, and I dropped down and started to close.
Unfortunately, I hadn't listened closely enough, and forgot the Marines' cardinal rule - stick together, or you're lunch. Sure enough, another marine came into the room right behind the first - and behind *me* - and before I could catch up to my quarry I was turned into Swiss Bob-cheese.
Here's another Bob story. I was in NS_Nothing, just running around looking for lone marines when I came upon 3 or so marines at the end of a hall. My first thought was, "Great, they'll shoot me to death before I could get one much less all or run." My second thought was "I should at least give them a run for their money" and I charged, biting like a madman. I ended up taking them all out (3 or 4 marines). My fellow teammates were going, "Go Hida!" Now for the scary part, they never hit me once.
I thought the built in alien cheats for NS only included wall hacks for the aliens and aimbots for the marines.......
Note to newbies: These are not cheats, these are fetures that and are not exactly as described, the "wallhack" simply draws a sprite of a marine where that marine is when other aliens can see him, and the "aimbot" is over watch mode, it only kicks in when ur not touching ur movement keys and basicly turn u into a turret while u can do things like type long messages, or long posts........
