that drawing looks alot like chars from "Ghost in the Shell" or "AppleSeed"(Masamune Shirow ownz). i like the drawing just not sure how much id like anime girls running around. also not sure if this has alrdy been asked in this thread or not but is there a way to have men marines and women marines at the same time? like if you replaced the random black guy skin with a whole dif model?

work in progress study of my latest one.. hvent finished that one yet.. originally one of shirows motives, i think it turned out well..only the coloring isnt that good ive tried to combine regular coloring with layered 3d rendered reflection mapping..

The gun kinda reminds me of an FN-P90 SMG. The thing fires 5.7x28mm bullets shaped like mini-5.56 rounds. Anyway, the female model looks great from the last few screenshots posted, but I agree with many people who say that you should rework the whole thing from scratch. I know that it would take a lot of work and you're probably not going to start over, but most of these problems could be fixed with the help of someone who can skin. Just reposition the armour a bit, give it a better face and you could have yourself a character model on par with the current marine.

Well, I could probably model the gun, given a front, top, back, under, and opposite side view (assuming it isn't simply symmetrical, for optimal accuracy). Couple problems though... primarily, it'd be a pain in the butt to get together as an HL model replacement, with all of the curves. Curves do not bode well for low-poly, and low poly is needed to keep the HL engine (and people playing on cruddy rigs) happy. Additionally, sections would need to be pointed out so that I could model around them for future animations (ejection port for spent casings, receiver, any slide-action, clip location and concept of loading sequence for proper hinging).
