So was Flayra saying that the map was ready for playtesting? In other words, were the r_speeds were low enough? Or was he just happy to get the latest build?
I'm not sure If I managed to play a leaked version, or something, but I was playing it, and it seemed pretty slick, only problem was the noname hive has a name... 'noname'
and another problem on that hive is the hive is too low, you cant get underneath it to build chambers anymore, and the hive 'looks' like it is hovering in midair, it should be placaded so the tendrils of the top actuall overlap inside the walls a bit, so it looks stuck not hovering (another reason to push it up a bit) just a simple fix to keep us nancy oldschool fans satisfied.

Except for run-around testing on a 3.0 beta server to check for missing/misaligned textures or screwy brushwork, and a little bit of tweaking on the exits of certain vents, it looks good IMO. Unless you're sure you're playing the new version, you're not.
OMG you guys made it through. Congratulations! (I can't believe I ignored the mapping forum....)
Now I should learn to ask my mon to maybe help pay through Paypal or I'm gonna have to fork in the cash....but FIRST! I need to get my internet access fixed on that PC (something wrong with it for some weird reason)
BTW, Talesin is right, it's just the same map, only with the name for nonam hive. In fact, it still has those stuck issues.

Not fuly done, but to the point where a compiled version has been tossed to Flayra. There are still minor tweaks to do here and there, and then playtesting to make sure the gameflow still works right. But things are looking more like Nancy may just make the official 3.0 release... so long as Flay allows it back in, with its rather harsh r_speeds.
I really hope that map2bsp program gets nuked by everyone. That way no one will have it, and I'm decompilling all maps
Ok. Common question that I'm sure you guys hate to hear. But I don't want to sift through 109 pages to find the answer. Is ns_nancy going to be available for 3.0 release?
Edit: Nevermind. Answer was on page 108. Go figure!

Personally i'd rather see bast redone before fenris. Fenris was, umm, very very big. I remember running around in it, I dont know if it will play too well with anything less than 20 players. But thats just me.
Somebody should make a thread containing all the existing relics of maps that people want to be remade and then get that thread stickied.
That way if a team ever forms to complete a given map, they will at least have a head start. It would also ensure that what we do have today is never lost.
In the interim, people could even submit/contribute small sections of the map or texture sets, whatever.
That would be a lot of fun and it sounds like theres a few people already willing to contribute.
Talesin Nancy is a lot more ready than you're making it sound. The r_speeds have been cut done amazingly. There are just a few places where they are actually high. Yes there are a few tweaks but those will be fixed within a couple of builds.

Yes, but I prefer to understate rather than overstate progress. It makes for a nice surprise when you say 'done!' and doesn't lead to idiots swooping through just to post 'omgomgomg!!11eleven! iz done giv me mappppp!!!!oneone1!'
In short, yeah. Last time I saw it, the .RAD needed tweaks (I'm sure it's fixed by now), the vent leading to Mother hive needed its 'hood' put on (to prevent vent-sawing the Hive away), and it needed to be run around in on a 3.0 beta server to make sure the skulkwalking worked well, and to look for any hall of mirrors that might be peeking out. But beyond that, the map itself looked good and done. Couldn't speak for optimizations with my burly monster though.
Exactly. I actually nailed a pretty bad HOM outside of Port that was almost missed. I've also figured out a problem or two with some clip brushes that are not all that bad but can cause slight problems here and there. Will be fixed for 3.0g probably since f will be the first to get the current nancy.
