I'm one of those marines that spend HALF of their entire ammo on one fade/skulk
When I run out of ammo, will I have to use my upgrade level to resupply?
Or is their a resuooky ammo option that pops up like very few minutes.
Also if it is based on the upgrade level, how will I level up If I am only weilding a knife....
Or do I just do that llama thing and just /kill myself <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> You have to conserve ammo, I guess. Either you can use your ups to refill your entire team's ammo, or die. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> I remember reading somewhere that you can just select "Resupply" at your level up menu before spending your experience points. And no, I'm pretty sure resupplying doesn't take exp.
Can anyone confirm whether or not the beacon and resupplying options we see on the first screenshot will prevent you from upgrading that level? If so it seems to me that nobody will ever use them, at least on your typical pubs...

One of the pictures on page 15 shows Flayra killing another player with a mine. My question is, how do players get mines in NS:C? The deathmessage sprite also uses a "laser-mine", does this mean they will be making a return, or is it simply a placeholder?

Thing is, if marines have a need to defend, you then have less fighting and interaction between players, which is what NS:C was supposedly all about...
Right. The marines have to press forward and the aliens must keep them back. This promotes lots and lots of fighting.
And, it makes sense that the marines are the ones who must push.. they are the slower of the two races, so for them to push and kill the other hive makes a lot more sense. The marines must push forward while continually being attacked wave after wave of aliens. It doesn't make sense for aliens to continually throw themselves at camping marines.
Yeah, you make a good point. Aliens are in marine spawn area in less than 30 seconds of the game starting. It takes a bit longer for marines to move to alien hives. Both sides need motivation to move throughout the map. Aliens already have this motivation, which is to get experience. Marines, while they'd also get experience, they wouldn't do so venturing out alone. They would go with marines, and a motivation for all the marines to venture out would be to win the game.
I'm probably going to have to change my whole map concept if there's a CC to defend.
I think it's a mistake to have an armory or two at marine start. To make sure you have enough ammo, perhaps just let dropped weapons keep all their clips. Then maybe combine resupply ammo/health upgrade with the reinforcement upgrade as a support upgrade. Just a couple ideas.
I think for hp and ammo, marines should get res for each kill they get... and then in turn they can spend their res on either ammo, hp, or a much more expensive choice, spawn in immediatly.

That seems a bit harsh on the marines.
I believe that this CC idea may be designed to solve that problem.
It looks very interesting to say the least. Truthfully, this is what all newbies to NS should do, play through some NS:C with the information that it is not like regular NS. It'll teach them about the tech tree some, the alien abilities, tactics and how to aim most of all. This would be good for those that play enough as that working on your aim, tactics and sneaking around, because everyone has area for improvement. One thing I want to know, once you reach the tenth level, is there no more room for getting upgrades or abilities at that level or do you still have the ability to obtain them? I don't know if it's been answered in this thread, but if you do have to use your experience to restore you and your team's ammo, how much experience does it take? I'm curious because I <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> at <!--emo&::lerk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/lerk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='lerk.gif'><!--endemo--> and waste a lot of ammo and end up with just my knife to take on the <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo--> that is right behind the lerk, and there's no way I can return to spawn fast enough for ammo <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> ... I have some other questions but I think I'll wait till more public information is released before I ask them.
