    Lmao.

"Sir, you shot this guy breaking into your home. While we feel that was justified, and you won't be charged with manslaughter, we do have to point out that you hit him with 4 bullets when 3 could have done the job. That's 10-15 in federal PMITA prison. Please put your hands behind your back."

    1) How far away do you think the Apache was from the people, cause they didn't seem to be able to hear it or see it?
    2) Even if it was far away, how come the Iraqis don't react when the Apache fires and misses initially. Surely you hear a 30mm right by you and you get the hell out of dodge! <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
That wasn't the Apache firing it was a radio transmission with gunfire in the background. You can tell because of voices and because no dust is kicked up from bullets.

Actually I believe they had the wrong range setting, which was why they were talking about the laser rangefinders immediately afterwards

those first shots were on the wrong range setting, and because the apache was, what, 1300 meters away, the bullets fell short, never entering the field of view or earshot of the targets. or perhaps the targets were desensitised to the sounds of chainguns from 1.3 km away.

anyone figures out why this was released?

I heard a lot about his video and from what I hear the soldiers did everything correctly.

My opinion, telling from the video, that the judgement was way too quick. Seemed the commander just took their word for it. And I do not believe the soliders lives were in danger when they are soaring overhead in a heavily armed gunship. There might have been intelligence we don't know about. Though the attempt to take out a wounded soldier? You heard it. "He's wounded!", "Take him out!" And some chatter about hitting the truck at the front instead. That was just retarded.
  • BurncycleBurncycle Join Date: 2002-11-24 Member: 9759Members, NS1 Playtester
Yeah? If he said "He's wounded!" And the reply came "Let em bleed!" you'd think that was wrong too.

That's war man. Apache's are not equipped to take prisoners. They don't HAVE to be in danger to engage the enemy. Everyone knows that if they were left alive, they could have likely injured or killed US troops. And we aint' havin that- sorry bub.

It's not like the movies, and I can see how that's dissappointing, but this is the way it is. War isn't fair, it isn't pretty.

Ladies, that has nothing to do with this particular video. Take it to the discussion forum. In fact, do a search, there are nuke topics there. kthxbai

Nope it's not OT. It's about the principle. Sorry if this wasn't clear enough....
  • BurncycleBurncycle Join Date: 2002-11-24 Member: 9759Members, NS1 Playtester
it IS off topic, and if you want to talk about the principle, do it in the discussion forums. As I said, we had a topic specifically about that.

There was intelligence we didint know about, they knew Iraqis were selling illegal arms in the area. They wernt Iraqi soldiers they were arms dealers, aka criminals.

The US army wouldnt have shot themselves in the foot and released this vid if they knew they had no justification to do what they did.

True they may not have been in any danger from that RPG in their helipopter but tell that to to the others soldiers family when hes killed by that RPG in the truck convey as hes delivering supplies somewhere and his convey is ambushed (which seems to happen a lot lately)

Remember their camera view was a lot more clearer then this vid.
True these arms dealers have familes too but in a war its them against you. You die or they do.

As for the commander just taking their word for it.

Let mt make a simple analogy.
