A bit of "scientific research" on the Kharaa?
I mean, I always remember the first time I met the hologram fade - so why not use tubes of specimens or vivisected skulks wiggling their claws slightly?
Anyone want to think up some PROTOTYPE equipment for a science lab? Non functional or damaged, perhaps a Drake style stripe rampage on some (now commonly used) TSA items?
Armoury gun racks?
Medical tables?
Consider some map "themes" and then work backwards from there. I love science labs, so I logically deduce that in a research lab would be test subjects and test weaponry for use on said subjects.
That works well for mapping too - a central room with some cylinders, some tables, bit of nice lighting and computers. Now corrupt it as the Kharaa would - the cylinders are broken with bacterium radiating out from them, lighting could be no more than a broken light hanging from the ceiling, perhaps next to some broken ceiling leading to vents out of the newly formed hive?
My advice for ideas is just to think what would you expect to see in most of the facilities we're playing NS in?
Those are some good ideas Necrosis, I'll try and work on some of them because I'm getting into the whole world model thing, it's fun especially because I'm learning how to model but I can't model anything complex.
Heres a fade in some type of cylinder (1000 ish polys. Only one recommended per room if its going to be used!)

Skinned (where the cylinder "dips in" at the front is supposed to be glass so a masked texture or a additive texture would be best IMHO. The actual cyclinder is supposed to be some sort of containment or research thing. The box surronding the fade was my idea of how to add a water type effect. Using a addivite texture i thought maybe the skinner could add a light blue around the fade giving the impression of water)

Uhm.. what about some sort of cargo carrying equipment? Nearly all maps have some sort of cargo bay (don't deny this!) so it would make sense to have some kind of cargo equipment. Maybe that cargo walker thing in HL?
i personally would love to see cargo laoders though preferably not the ones stragiht out of hl. i want to see widgets and gizmos. teh kind of wird scifi mahcines one sees in teh other room thourhg the window and goes: "wow, we arent in kansas any more." this is kind of a genral thouhgt

The helmet seems to have a larger hitbox than it needs...but I don't know how to edit the hitbox. Always seems that when compiling it makes the hitboxes itself based on the size of the model.

in hlmv it only shows 1 hitbox the size of the boot.
