idea! he wanted to know what it was like to be like a fly and walk on the ceiling, and there just happened to be a pile of alien sludge nearby, so he made sticky sludge shoes! Of course, his rival enemy Humphrey came in and saw him so he knocked him unconscious just for fun.
Am I right or am I right?

why not make a bloody marine thats like missing a arm in a closet and when you open the door he falls out but if you close the door he goes back in so its like you push him back in and close the door

I've just come from making and skinning (with a crap skin) the pool of sludge someone suggested. I then went to go and save it to find my milkshape trial period had expired
So whoever wanted that will have to wait until I remember to register and remake it.
The skin's crap, just a placeholder so you get the idea. Anyone can skin it if they like, I'll do it when I get time. I'll make a second post with the .ms3d file.

...so i got tired of Yamakazi asking me to make models for his maps... so i told him to make this thread... so far, it's turned out pretty nicely.
...i'm working on a wall-model (like those in caged and bast)... it'll be a TSA-Themed locker... had concept art somewhere.... lost it.
Yeah, I mean most other modelling forums have sections with prefabs and worldmodels for people to season their maps with.
I always found it odd that NS maps lacked good healthy clutter. Especially since they're small corridors where you can worry less about framerate issues.
Anyhow, was idling and thinking about more stuff to shove in.
How's about a big TSA logo in case someone's doing a TSA theme map?
Immature hives, "secret door" style kharaa tunnel entrances (they're coming out of the walls!!), infested equipment, fake eggs
Nice as world models!
Lots of moving bits would really break up your vision - normally in NS if it moves you can kill it..... but if you're being distracted by hanging lights or strange pulsing blobs in the walls then you really have to keep on your toes. It would also allow mappers to concentrate on great map layouts and not spending tons of time on learning enough modelling to allow them to make "some big steam engine power core for the centre of this room"

Its a good excuse to learn how to use milkshape more!
They all look great!

Teddy bear to put in bunk areas on colony maps.
Pistons, moving parts, flashing consoles, security cameras.

Then use a Cycler, and specify the model.
