    I miss the game being fun. As someone else said, its just so sterile now. marines just seem to churn out endless HA's now, and aliens easy get 2 or 3 ONOS. back in 1.04, if you saw a HA/ONOS it was a terrifying experience, because you knew you were in deep ****. And if you managed to kill it, it was terrific. Nowadays its 10-15 minute games were the marines alwalys get everything of value on their tech tree, and the aliens alwalys get ONOS.

    It seems that upgrades come at such a high rate, they make the battle for rts redundant. in 1.04 rts were everything.

    I played yesterday which like OWNED. Only point is @ the end I had to leave. (that was very bad)

    hehe. i was lost anywayz. I got stuck, forgot any good server on 1.04 runned unstuck and suicided.     I wonder. if we all ask kindly, or alot, would flayra consider trying a few versions on 1.04 style again?

    and I mean few cause n00bs have to relearn how it was really done

    Yeah, but if you think back to 1.04, how often did you see lone fades? Just about never right? You saw them in bunches, often with lerks.     Yeah. So? Everyone knows aliens used more teamwork in 1.04, if that's what you're getting at. Thing is, marines also used teamwork in 1.04. They use less now though.

    If you look at my original a bit before you replied to me you'll see that is indeed all I am saying. There was more teamwork in 1.04 and that's practically all I miss.

    2.0 and beyond requires Aliens to have more teamwork than they ever did in 1.04. Simply coordinating the gorge functions without any sort of a central power like the comm requires teamwork that often is nonexistant in pubs. I really miss all but one of the aliens being able to fight while one player kept up the res infrastructure. I loved aliens in 1.04 but since 2.0 I've typically preferred marines except when the alien team is really incredible in the teamwork department.

    As someone mentioned, games are much less interesting now because marines will always have almost their entire tech tree researched by midgame. Back in the day you couldn't upgrade to 3/3 in 15 minutes AND have phase gates AND advanced weapons AND a prototype lab. The marines made choices, and it lead to greater variety in gameplay.

    You know what i miss??? the 3 hr epic back and forth Games that were not drug out with spawn killing. They were fun and fulfilling when the game ended no matter if you were on winning or losing team.

    Also, please remember it has been a LONG time since 1.04 but did'nt you need 3 hives to go onos?? or was it just useless to do it till then? anyways onos and fade after 2 minutes of gameplay is REALLY annoying. I know one of the early points of the new NS versions was to make quicker games but quicker makes less quality which means you downgraded NS from a BMW to a ford festiva.. well not that drastib but you know what i mean.

    and pretty much all the stuff everyone else posted, jp/shottie rushes lerks with long range weaponry fades that were a little more killable (new blink with focus swipe sucks)

    But the newest version while not 1.04 is not so bad... it seems to be getting better but I think 1.04 with the cleaner graphics and some tweaks and maybe a little of the weaponry and ideas from NS beta would be the best ever...

    please note that v1 fades usually meant that the game ended w/ aliens win.

    and shotgun was so rarely used in v1, that I didn't even know they existed then.

    however v1 gl > all

    [EDIT] Some gameplay changes are good though... eg SC cloak, silence of attacks[/edit]
