Appoligies for double post, Heres how far I got, and I want to know if this is kind of what you want? If it isnt well long story short, photoshop crashed and I lost most of the layers, so I cant really change anything except the color, and I can add details, cant take anything away anymore... Anyways, -Dan *Nevermind I have to fix something... Ill post it tommorow* *Todays work, Almost done*
reminds me on the wh40k landspeeder <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
the cockpit should be more like a yet cockpit, pilots have to see the outside of their craft <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> the colors are fitting. maybe I would adjust them to fit the map colors. I would like to see more details, exspecially around the corners.
maybe I should post some concept screens, at the rear there should be a hydraulic ramp for example.
To Gravity: Yeah i'll add some more details, If you could give me some examples that would rock since honestly... Im the least creative guy you will ever meet. (Gimme 'em concepts later, and a screenshot of where this will actauly be)
<a href='http://thunder.sslsecure.com/~artbyfen/tut_00.html' target='_blank'>http://thunder.sslsecure.com/~artbyfen/tut_00.html</a> great site and tutorial maybe u get some ideas to u'r skin, texture to models
carioca Im extreme busy, I really have NO time to do ALL this stuff by my own. create a fullsize ns map takes all your time, you know? but if you believe it or not, the models were made by me. thats kinda side effect of working with expensive 3D modelling progras at work <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> thanks to obst&gemuese for all the meshes. thanks to coltrane and clashen for the nice skins.

OMG this is sweetness! I for one actually had the time to read the whole thread, and all this progress and the meshes etc. are TOTALLY OVERWHELMING my eyes! how the heck do you people do this stuff?! someone help me! are you putting textures that you ripped from .wad files or are you making the textures in MSPaint or some related program? Please tell me, and I'll even help skin something!
and for those that dont know what I am talking about anymore: <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=85956' target='_blank'>ns_source beta release</a>
so hurry, I dont have time forever <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
sorry but I dont need additional models atm. (entitycount, oh entitycount...) I need the skins for the models that are important for this map. first of all the mining vehicle. thats HELL of important because "understanding" the map depends on it in some parts! but unfortunately noone wants to spend time on this task. I wouldnt ask for help if there were ANY chance I could do it myself <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I just wanted to jump in and say this is quite awesome. I feel as if I have learned so much just from reading. I never realized what kind of detail goes into a map. Holy crap. Wish I could help somehow. If anyone can point me to any programs that would be worth me learning I would like to learn.
Found on an old cd I used to save stuff from the format monster. Found it when I was cleaning my room. If I finish and its not too late I might finish it. If not ill get it done soon.
ill have a look at the map and change it. Then ill probly be done the other meshs by saturday <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
We love you <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
btw if you need changes to the meshs feel free to ask me, I know they kinda suck <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I looked at the map...i must have spent at least 30 minutes jetpacking around looking for the mining vehicle. Never found it, anyway Im going paintballing later so... hoping to finish by tonight <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo-->
thats because in the last version released to the public the vehicle was still missing. but starting with version b33 (not public yet) the vehicle is located in the "vehicle garages". did some rescaling because I chose the wrong size within my parametric 3d modeller, so it was as tiny as a toy car <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Looks funny, the glass...thing... is a placeholder till I think of something better. I think its too bland. I might design some kinda logo or something. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
nice, you are working on it. the "glass thing" is ment as door for the drivers place, its not meant to be glass (we are working in a mine here) more likely a kind of gidder.
but one thing: whats your monitor brightness? because the texture comes out completely dark to me, first I thought the model is black now <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
edit: there is no need to "spread" thios model before any final map release <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> so the bmp files are enough for me. I use the rescaled model anyway so...
and this is the second thread I have to updated just because people cant/wont continue/finish their work. no offense grizzly, you are doing some great job within other projects but this skin is not satisfactorily.
and this time its pretty serious because the release date of the map will be this weekend.
Im grateful some people even tried to help me out but I cant adopt to the attitude to begin something and dont finish it because you have "something". thats not how I imagined a "creative dialog" <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Are the skinmaps OK?

I'll try doing a few small models for your map, seeing as its coming along well ^_^

mapper -> ME <- skinning noob
...
*speechless*
only thing to remark here: color. something that fits the map. or something in big contrast to the map. havent seen yet?

so we DONT have to see this in the final version of the map:
<img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/centercross/ns_source/vehicle_now.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
