Ok... This league was based on Skill. So people dont get raped and people dont get such an easy win it isnt fun.
NS not dying.... maybe in american.... not in the EU.
what forlorn said is true, every one clan that starts is from 2 old clans..... then they fold a week later, through lack of teamwork.

Every Product has a lifecycle.... They all come to an end (accept bread and milk) And NS has reached its end tbh, since every other clan in the EU is now playing SWG and waiting for WOW.
I don't know. I've always found my greatest games and times in NS to be with a community, rather than a clan based environment. You're playing with a bunch of folks you've known for a good while, but nothing really hangs in the balance, and everyone just has fun. Maybe more people need to find communities that suit them, so they can truly enjoy the game. What I've been reading in this thread is alot of animosity from either both "sides" of NS, the clan scene and the "pub" scene, and inter-clan animosity. Perhaps the greatest games come from two competing teams who respect eachother? I don't really know, but I wish there was more of a common ground between the two scenes, instead of only pubbers and clanners, with some only believing the ridiculous stereotypes of the other.
There is common ground. Clanners are clanners and pubbers. Pubbers are just pubbers.
Both play in pubs, though the clanners play competitively.
Competitive NS is a lot more fun than a pub. Everyone listens to their orders, and the skill to go against and play with will never be in a pub. NS is kinda geared towards competitive play, considering the high level of teamwork that is usually only achieved in competitive play.

I love the sounds of a clan, to be honest. To see actual teamwork on the alien side and folks following orders, or even commanders actually giving orders on the marine side? To have the words "structure under attack" mean I can expect to go there and maybe have some backup? That'd be cool.
I don't for two reasons: 1. I don't have the kind of time that clans require. 2. I don't have the individual skill, and from what I've seen on these forums, especially from folks like forlorn, if I don't have an "appropriate" level of skill, I'm just going to be made to feel bad when I try.
I don't need to be made to feel bad for my few recreation hours. So I'll grit my teeth at the res-**** and the armory humpers, get mowed down by the clanner marines with pin-point aim and skulks with their celerity-bhop-leap-twist-bite, and I'll keep playing in the pubs. I'll keep setting up my little OC traps for dumb marines, I'll keep playing bait so marines actually get off their rumps and move instead of cowering in their base, and you know what.. I'll have fun doing it. And I'd continue to do so even if clans didn't exist.

When it comes to precision shots and accuracy, in shots where milliseconds count (and in real competitive play, miliseconds count), 100fps is not an option. It's essential. This is more a mathematic thing.. you can't argue, it's not opinion based.
So many things are tied in with FPS, it's hard to explain and understand. You used to be able to fly with unlimited gas with the jetpack with 100fps; that was fixed a few patches ago though (this is just one minor example).
I have no idea on the competitive scene, but am a recently new player (3 weeks) whom has played TFC for years on and off, cs for quite a while and such, I was really lost at the start here. I can tell you easily what the biggest problem for me is - the ammount of hatred for people like me, trying to play and learn.
Today I was playing on a public server and got 2 people from the same clan tag telling me i'm a stupid freaking noob, and that i'm wasting their time, and kept biting me till low life untill I finally left the team for the marines. So yes, players like this make players like me not want to try and learn this game. Thankfully there has been some nice people that help out and convince me otherwise, but the jerks are out there in abundance.
