@carioca: When showing us r_speed screenshots, you only need to show us where they are highest. They will generally be highest where there are a greater number of, and more complicated brushes OR where the viewing distance is greatest.
In general the highest r_speeds (wpolys) will be a combination of the two.
We only need to see the highest r_speed screenshots, and you can also tell us what you think the average r_speeds in certain areas are.

No, as you can see from the Commander's view the map's progressing quite nicely with the room and the port thingy to be joined on to an intricately connected labyrinth of hollowed boxes.
carioca try to use any light texture ONCE only, not tiled 3 times over one surface. you should aim for an 1:1 scaling. if the texture doesnt fit try to rotate it 90° or make the brush smaller so the texture fits perfectly. thats how mappers do their work. and PLEASE use textures so anybody can tell whyts the floor, whats the wall and whats the support. using the same texture all over the place make the scene look plain.

Keep at it, look for small ways to give aliens advantages and how to allow them to surprise marines in interesting ways.
