I don't know who funbags is, and i'm not prejudging him. I look at what was brought forward and without a doubt he's aimbotting.

By the "not many liked funbags", I'm assuming you're talking about myself and my clanmates. I can almost guarantee we were the only ones to know funbags (we had played with him for at least a year prior to the "incident"), and know when he joined CAL. The reason we didn't like him was because we caught him aimbotting about a month prior to him joining your team. Please stop making this out to be some grandiose conspiracy, because it's not. It's just some hacker getting what he deserves.

What are the characteristics people are looking at here as aimbotish? I believe milo, that he's got a key set that only a hook for ns sets, but - the people that were spectating weren't operating off that. As in, when shoe goes "nice bot" or whatever, he was looking at the way the guy's aim was working, not at keys set to "pige0n". I looked at it in 1/4 time and my general rule in the past has been that if bullets hit the wall, it's not a bot. And yet he's botting and bullets hit the wall, so: what's the deal? Those bullets that miss right before the fade kills him, for example. And why didn't the bot lock on to the gorge until death did they part?

Remember that lag plays a part in the accuracy of the demo. What you're seeing is not necessarily exactly what the player is seeing. The main suggestive features in that demo are the whipping around when the fade attacks him which is an atypical reaction to fades hitting you and also indicative that the aim may be locked on, and the snapping onto the gorge and ocs with no human error jitters or deviations when moving around. This demo isn't completely conclusive, but it is suspicious, both in the way he reacts to the aliens and the way he reacts to people watching him and commenting. Apparently CAL has other demos and complaints to supplement this one anyway.

The fade part wasn't damning but the gorge part was. Watch it at .25 speed. There is no doubt, when he snaps to that gorge.

Actually there really isn't. Have you ever seen someone in the competetive community complain about it?

    It's not luck.

Only problems I've noticed in the competitive community are problems that affect any community. Individuals that make the group look bad, and trouble likes company. An arrogance that makes everyone else seem inferior. There's nothing in this community that makes it any different than any other body of people.

This entire thread is why I don't play NS anymore. You are going to see jerks all over the place regardless if he plays in a clan or not, can't you accept that sometimes people are jerks, not because they play a certain way, but because they're just simply a moron? That guy was probably just being sarcastic, because when I got heavy into clans everyone was sarcastic, but when you talked on ventrillo they were generally nice guys,

This stupid childish civil war between people who like organized play versus those who would rather be casually playing needs to cease, its really stupid and everyone involved just ends up getting hurt over something stupid.

People tend to be jerks when they have particular status in a community. For example a server that has res slot holders to prefered players (which is elitist, because not everyone has an oppurtunity to receive said status), usually, but not always feel they can treat non res-slot holders with less respect. I have found this apparent on servers I used to be a reg on. Admins are more susceptible to this because if there is any opposition they can just ban the individual without listening to logic.

Same thing goes with competitive players, if they come from a high rank clan, (or even a low ranking clan) they can be ****.

This applies to me. I've admit I've been a jerk on some servers, but people have been jerks to me as well without justification. The best thing a person can do is acknowledge their mistakes and correct them. And I see the competitive community for the most part cleaning up their act. It is no where near as bad as when it was when I played competitivly in 1.04.

Its all relative to percieved status in a said community. Those with higher status are more likely to get away with breaking the rules, or actually creating them. This screws over people without status in a community. I've seen people with status provoke those without status so they would get banned. Kinda sad in a way, but that is life.

This comment is without reference to anyone in this thread, it's just a general concept to ponder -

You can't judge your achievements by other people. If you hold your own behaviour up to scrutiny and go "Well, at least I wasn't as bad as *****" or similar, then you are setting some really crappy standards for yourself.
