Important Game Skills:
Dashing: Double tap any movement key while wielding a melee weapon.
Tumbling: Double tap any movement key while wielding a any other item.
Blocking: Hold shift key to block attacks with a sword or kodachis, daggers cannot block. Blocking does not protect your legs/feet.
Knockdown:Right-click while wielding a melee weapon to perform a knockdown attack.
Recovery:Spam your jump key (default is spacebar) after being hit with a knockdown to flip onto your feet instead of falling to the ground.
Wall-running 1: Run or dash to a wall at a diagonal then press and hold the jump key to run along a wall.
Wall-running 2: Run or dash directly at a wall but not quite close enough to touch the wall then press and hold jump to run up the wall.
Mountain-climbing While in mid-air and wielding a melee weapon, right-click to perform a stabbing motion, this attack does not do damage but allows you to hang from a wall by driving your weapon into it. Pressing the jump key while hanging flips you upward.
Advanced Tactics:
The Mid-Air Cancel: While in mid-air attacking with a melee weapon cancels whatever animation your character is currently in, this allows for the chaining of various techniques into movement combos which aid greatly in avoiding enemy fire.
Wall-to-Wall Running: Run along a wall as normal, when your character begins to flip off the wall (happens after a short duration of running or when jump key is released) perform a Mid-Air Cancel and then dash to your wall of choice and hold down your jump key to begin running the new wall. (This takes some practice, as you must be at the angle you would normally use for wall-running.)
Gliding: The Mid-Air Cancel/ Dash Combo can be repeated ad-infinitum and allows you to quickly cover a lot of ground while airbone. This ability is also useful in certain locations to make cover distances not possible with normal jumps without having to resort to more difficult techniques.
The Slide 'n Shoot/Slash(Block): A nasty close-range combo that can be used both offensively and defensively. It takes a lot of practice to switch weapons fast enough but is deadly effective. Strafe and shotgun opponents by dashing around them and quickly alternating between weapons long enough to attack and quickly dash again to a new position. Or jump dash at a nearby opponent, slash them in mid-air and then quickly switch to the shotgun and give them a quick blast before they can recover.
The Big Three of Melee:
In Gunz, there are 3 types of melee weapons available for use, the sword, the dagger, and kodachis. Higher level versions of this weapons have improved damage and delay but function in the same manner as their forebearers. Each weapon has several strengths and weaknesses to consider when making your choice of weapon.
The Sword: The melee weapon of choice for most players, the sword is probably the most useful of the 3 weapon types. It is a strong and versatile weapon.
Sword Advantages:
+Longest range
+Most damaging attack
+Can use block
+Can "air juggle" opponents hit opponents hit with knockdown attack (A quick slash or a few shots)
Sword Disadvantages:
-Swings two and three of the attack animation leave swordsman very vunerable to attack.
The Dagger: Used almost solely for it's more powerful knockdown, the dagger's is somewhat less versatile than the sword.
Dagger Advantages
+Best knockdown ability
+Able to land consecutive hits more easily.
+Light-weight
Dagger Disadvantages:
-Lowest damage
-Shortest range
-Cannot block
-Knockdown leaves character momentarily vunerable
The Kodachis: Probably the coolest looking of the 3 weapon types, these swords aren't available to purchase until level 10.
Kodachi Advantages:
+Can use block
+Outranges dagger
+Power strike does 6x damage? (Not confirmed, but someone seems sure it does)
Kodachi Disadvantages:
-Cannot match the range of the sword
-Cannot match the ability of the dagger to land consecutive hits
-Least useful knockdown attack
-Heaviest weapon

Looks fancy.
TS has swords....
Double tap a movement key to dash(melee) or dodge(ranged) in that direction.
Holding shift key with the sword allows you to block bullets and some melee attacks.
Jumping at a wall at a diagonal then holding the jump key when you contact the wall allows you to wall-walk.
Right-clicking with a melee weapon allows you to perform an attack that knocks opponents to the ground.
Right-clicking in mid-air with a melee weapon allows you to jab the weapon into a wall which you will then hang from, you can scale high walls with this technique.
That Navy Field game
I never played it myself
But it's not manga

you had me at "blocking bullets"!
...no wait, the poor graphic weights the other way.
Redford: You know, Scythe, I allways wondered what the specalists would be like if it was made by koreans. Well, they've apparently read my mind. *posts link in comment*
Scythe: Specalists is a buggy piece of poo.
What does this have to do with the game? Absolutly nothing, but it still looks... intresting.
Watched the trailer. Graphics are a little old, but it still looks awesome - like specalists would be if it was actually made on a more flexible engine.
I assume it is dead atm?
looks kinda fun
Maybe I'll try later or not
Bad koreans, bad!
Get the power up so we can win the game!!1
I would also like to mention now that if you are going to make a thread for a game, please at least have the decency to put the name of the game in the thread's subject. It makes it easier to find when browsing the thread listing, and just makes more sense...
For example, you could have made the subject "Gunz - The Game" with the description being "Another Moderately Amusing Korean Game". The reasoning behind this is that the title of the game is more important that it is a "moderately amusing korean game".
Thankyou.
And hopefully they'll get their servers up again. There's only so much I can take of MapleStory and ROSE.
Definitely gonna try this one out. You guys need to stop whining about graphics.
Except now it's full.
God damn it.
how do i wall run?
how do i stick my sword in the wall and hang?
how do i know how much each item costs?
what do i get for leveling?
Haha, woot.
Chrono, there's a post on the first page detailing the controls.
That Navy Field game
I never played it myself

Why all the haikus?
This I cannot decipher,
Even from this link.
Whoa, you actually *can* play ?? It's either Cannot Access Server, or Too Many Players error for me ...

Thought it's obvious
Navy Field ain't anime
But it's Japanese
Same here, word has it server went back up but because too many people logged in it went down after a few hours again...
Hit me up as Thansal the nubcanon (dual smgs) wielding Mook.
As a note, switcinhg between melee and guns is very effective.
If yuo can manage to knock some one up, and then unload a full clip into them on the ground, nasty things happen
