I just started saving for specific weapons (shotgun/rifle/daisho)
There's not much worth getting until level 10, then some fun new weapons and much improved armor become available.
This is the first game I've ever played where I've regretted having a low ping. Nothing like slicing a guy 7 times with a kodachi, blocking all his bullets, emptying all your dual SMG ammo into him at close range, and then dying because he finishes reloading and every single one of his bullets hits although only 1/10th or less of yours did.
I dunno than... the ability to look good while kicking rear is pretty important if you ask me :p My lil top that people keep commenting on cost me a whopping 500 bounty.
<b>edit:</b> yeah, that's mainly what I was talking about tranquil. Than thought I was talking about those guys with the 'lag' symbol above them but even people who don't and just have a 300 or so ping seem to take about 3-5 times as much effort to kill as someone with a decent ping :s

It's so much more fun when playing with low ping people. I met a few yesterday and we were owning until two 300 ping guys came in.
It sucks, I'm level 7 now, so I'm back to being like a freshman.
I love hitting people up into the air with a sword and then switching to dual smgs and blasting them in the head. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> It just feels so spiteful.
I think I may buy a dagger just to try out smacking people down with it. (Fast EXP/Bounty is always good.)

no gem, I know what you are talking about.
but unless they are up to 500 ping I can generaly deal with it. It just means I can't use my swords.
And still, just /kick the buggers <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
oh and gem, the guys cloathes suck. (untill much higher level).

With the current items I only see in the store, seems like you will never run out of money to buy anything (lets say after buying low level stuff) because the higher level stuff, by the time you get to that level, you'll probably have enough money to buy everything you need.

I dono...
I am guessing $$ comes easier at higher levels.
but at low levels it is sorta hard to pick up everything you want <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
You still only get 1 bounty per kill, but it takes a lot more kills to level up. You won't be able to get every item available, but you'll get a fair enough selection to work with.
I tried using a shotgun for awhile, it's a lot of fun but the netcode issues become even more apparent. Hitting someone with a powered-up weapon (short duration stun, much less than knockdown) and blasting them in the face works well when the blast registers, but I got frustated when only 2/10 times enough pellets hit to kill (after stunning, a blast while stunned, and two more close range shotgun blasts).
I also tried out iron kodachis. They look rather nifty and are a decent set of weapons, but they are lacking in comparison to the sword and dagger. The smaller kodachi are outranged by the sword. Unless the swordsman is unaware of the kodachis' ability to power attack after blocking a blow, the only hope of victory is guerrilla attacks with power strikes.
The kodachis' knockdown ability is poor as well. It can be used while running (I believe it does damage when used this way) however it only knocks the opponent down if used while standing still and the opponent must be right next to the wielder to be hit. They also knock up and then down like a sword, making this attack easier to recover from.
You might want to try a shotgun and see if you have any better luck with hits landing. The kodachis however, are mostly just for show. Stick with a sword for versitality and strength, and a dagger if you can't live without your cheap knockdowns.
I've said it before, I'll say it again; there's no point in taking anything but dual uzis as your 'pistol' weapon :p
Also, the most annoying thing in the game is when you've been shooting/slashing someone, they kill you THEN the damage kicks in and they drop dead :/ They need to do something about latency ingame... I'm sure they'll improve the netcode over time but for now it's a pain. I think they need to put an optional ping restriction option into the rooms; not nice for the high pingers I know but at least it'll let those with a decent ping get a smooth game and be able to use the weapons properly XD
hey... seems they're gonna add quests to the game sometime in the near future :o You fight monsters and stuff! Dunno why but I keep thinking of devil may cry. Hope they're coop and not just singleplayer :D
Oh and I hope they add more servers too so we can actually get on more often ><

anyone still play? :> I resented it at first but I'm almost lvl 18 now, I want that lvl 18 rifle...
the key to a high score the game is definitely being a vulture. never fight anyone face to face if you can avoid it. instead, find 2 or more people fighting and finish them all off. I guess that's the key to deathmatch in most games though... =p

I am back to dual smgs and my rifle.
it isn't that dual smgs are nub, it is that they are one of the fe things that gets around the horrible net code.

(for the person who is hosting that game)
Then I could manage the high pingers myself.
Need a level 10 and 4 others...
