Hurray - I got my new gun! I unlocked the one that goes with the Medic kit, it's not as accurate as you'd think... After you fire 2-4 shots, it's more inaccurate than a flippin' shotgun FFS!

I know my statement sounds incredibly un-intelligent, but its very easy to skip steps 1 and 2. Your post makes it sound like you have done just that.
Well then: Step 1: Is your target an area, or a point? Is your target moving? Step 2: This is the most important step, in the technical aspect of bombing! Approach your target at the angle most appropriate for the attack. This means, if your target is a moving vehicle, your target just became the location where that vehicle will be. Also, you must take into account the angle at which you are planning to hit it. Step 3: Release your bombs.
Now, I havent said when to release your bombs. Its deliberate. When to release varies by target, and by angle. If your approach is from 90 degrees vertically, you want to release as soon as you have your target in your sights, and let gravity do the rest. If your approach is at 0 degrees, and your airspeed is 504 Km/h (140m/s) and your target is 100m below you, you want to release a bomb at exactly 632.45 meters away, which is 4.5175 seconds from being 100m directly over the target. Of course, since you drop more than 1 bomb at a time, its a good idea to drop before that mark, as releasing at any point afterwards will cause you to miss your target.
Do those numbers bother you? Simply follow steps 1 through 3, and the details will come to you naturally.

pieceofsoap: Do you ever try to line up the bomb line thing w/ the box around the vehicle, or is this a mistake to do so?
Is it better to come at a target at near level w/ ground, or is it better to kinda swoop down?
Any tips for flying the jet straight up as opposed to slightly back a bit eventually running out of bounds on the map?

As for the various static things around the crosshairs, those are just there to look pretty.
Angle of attack: All angles work. I prefer to use a 45 degree angle of attack, because it gives me prolonged time-on-target, with which to put all my bombs exactly where I want them, and it still gives me plenty of room to maneuver. However, this by no means precludes me from using any other angles, and I usually end up simply attacking on the vector closest to my present heading. I regularly attack on angles 0-90 degrees, and have even been known to bomb on angles higher than that. As such, with a multitude of angles at a wide variety of speeds, I cant tell you any specific timing. What I can tell you, is start with your crosshairs, then factor in your airspeed, and angle relative to the ground. The specific physics of bombs with airspeed/angle can only be truly learned by feel. So bind your HAT switch to various view angles, including rear view, so that after you release your bombs, you can look back as you pull away, to see where your bombs actually hit.
Tips for flying a jet straight up, and not off the map? Umm, fly up. Dont fly off the map. Its not hard. Or if you are talking about escaping a flat spin, thats something completely different.
Air to Air tips? First off, if you are tailing, keep tailing! Simple, newbish tip. Also, when you do get a lock, dont be too hasty to pop off your missiles, when you get a lock. If possible, Try to stick the birds up their tail pipe when they flatten out, because if you launch while your target is banking, you will probably miss.
On the defensive end, first off, check your six! I mentioned binding your hat switch to various views? Its important to know whats behind you, as thats where the pain comes from. Then, if some sod is there, sniffing your exhaust fumes, dont just try to shake him, try to get behind him. Learn the immelman, and the split S, and use em. Try to come up with your own maneuvers, if you can. And one major thing: Remember, its easier to lose your pursuer in a computer game. Why? because you are behind a monitor, not an actual cockpit. Use the enemy's tunnel vision to your advantage. Also, like it says in many, many places, conserve your flares, because most of the time, you can dodge the missiles with quick maneuvering. Save the flares for when you cant maneuver, because thats when the dangerous missles come.
And now an air to air trick that most pilots dont know about: Switch to your bombs. If you can get the drop on someone, dont give away the element of surprise with a warning buzzer and a red x. With your bombs selected, slide into position, and then switch to your missiles, and let them have it. Or even just use your guns for a bit, I find that they often dont notice, until either its too late, or they try to dodge the ground fire they think (falsely) that they are recieving. And dont just use your bombs to sneak up, use them during dogfighting too, to fake out your opponent. There have been a vast number of times that Ive been chasing someone, and they stop hearing the warning buzzer, so they think the've lost me. Then they die.
Oh, and incidentally, Ive been playing for about 6 hours now, and I havent been shot down once.
A few of tonights highlights include: Shooting down an enemy helicopter using the laser guided missiles on the SU-34, (The air to ground missiles the copilot has) and bombing a fully loaded blackhawk out of the air, at about 100 feet up. Truly a beautiful shot.
/EDIT Oh, and please, please, use a joystick, for your own sake.
But when you got the heavy bomber it's hard as hell to outmanuver someone even harder to tail them, cause they're less agile. Any other tips or try to do the same?
My tip air-to-air would be to tail some one silently until they reload/repair flying straight over the airfield/boat and then shoot, most of them keep flying straight and die.

was just playing a game, was pwning it up driving the tank, at the top in both flag caps and kills, etc etc...
this guy on the other team suddenly starts accusing me of TKing him 6 times... so I say 'oh yeah, I'm so good at TKing people on the other team -_-'
he says, his chat glaringly in red, 'check the scoreboard and you'll see I'm on your team, NOOB'
so I check the scoreboard. other team. I figure this guy is nuts and refuse to keep talking to him.
anyway, we now have all the flags on the map - they have no spawn spot. 2 guys left. comm does a UAV, I go toward one of the blips. I attack one of them. I empty an L85 clip at him and run away to reload. I figure he must be a real newbie because he doesn't even shoot back. I finish him off - and I get kicked from the server for TKs...
now, I've seen the bug where a friendly's name will show up in red. when I've killed someone like that, it's still shown up as a TK. This bug was apparently that bug times 10. This one guy appeared red the whole map. his name was red. he was red on the scoreboard. he was red on our UAV. his chat was red. when I killed him, it showed up as a legit kill every time. It never showed warnings for damaging or killing teammates. It never said I was being punished. Still, he was on my team apparently and I was TKing him. so much for all the points I thought I got that game -_-
I'd say you're probably right, but it was an EA official server, I"m not sure they have abusive admins - do they? =P
I think it really may have been a bug - though I hope you're right (not that it's a big deal either way)...
I was driving the tank the whole map so only that last kill did I fight the guy in question in person... and A) he didn't fight back, B) I got kicked right after I killed him, and C) I think he MAY have had my team's skin/model, but it's hard to remember exactly, because once you see that red name, you attack instinctively and stop paying attention to the details

Its a mistake to try to aim your bombs with the floating horizontal line, because that line, is simply a horizon indicator. so I check the scoreboard.
Still, he was on my team apparently and I was TKing him. so much for all the points I thought I got that game -_-
In the future though, tell the person to reconect to the server - IIRC that fixes the bug.
it's happened to me before... they haven't allowed admins to say WHY, so any time you get kicked (for ANY reason) it says it's for TK's...
