Nutshell version: Lucas is going back to the original trilogy and "fixing it up" - in this case, replacing the actor who played the Emperor in <i>A New Hope</i> with the one who plays him in 5, 6, and 1-3.

Frankly, I wouldn't be terribly upset about that, except WHY are they showing his face? As my roommate put it, he doesn't look evil... he just looks like someone opened the Ark of the Covenant at him. q:

    im so glad i have the original 3 on vhs sinlge tapes and the original trilogy boxset (digital remastered but no messing with) on vhs too.

    I dont mind most of the changes but greedo shooting first
    han solo walking over jabba the hutt
    and the new anakin omg

    p.s. the enw emperor imo is a good change since he is the emperor in every toher film but the other changes i despise.

    p.p.s isnt that screenshot of the emperor from empire strikes back? i cant remember seeing the emperor at all in a new hope..

    look on the bright side: The original Greedo scene is back. The Han Solo / Jabba The Hutt scene is fixed.

    In fact, reading upon the changes he wanted to change, the positive outweighed the one or two negative by far. Sadly, I cannot find it for you guys. It's pretty big, though.

    One can but wonder as to why, though? Seems like a waste of time to me.

    meh, it don't bug me. I have the un-midified version of the trilogy and the re-mastered but not forked up version.

    The reason for this atrocity tho... money from little timmy who loves the new moves and thinks teh queen is hawt (she is BTW).

    Lucas will make more $$$ byputting out a "second remastered version..."

    Give him 5 more years to see...
