Why would God give a **** wether we believe him or not or commit murder and such? When will some people take into consideration that maybe Humans arn't the only things God cares about. What about those other bodies in the universe with possible life eh?
Why would I not go to hell for killing thousands of flies and ants yet if I were to kill another human I would go to hell? Sorry that doesn't make sense. The human species needs to get off their high horses throne and realize the world doesn't simply revolve around us and "OUR" personal beliefs because in my opinion, God doesn't give a crap about that.
In Genesis, we are told that God created animals via the earth "let the earth bring forth..." When God created humans, he formed us individually, as the account says, shaping man from clay and then breathing life into him. That is why we are the only thing God really cares about. He cares for the animals, keeps them alive, gives them food, but the majority of his time is devoted to us. In black and white, the majority of your time is spent with your creature, the villiagers are just there. As for killing animals, man has been given dominion over them. God has specifically said we rule over them.

which ones?
As for aliens, i dont believe they exist. we are not told about them therefore they have no purpose so therfore there is no point in them existing.
i believe because i have no reason not belive. early on in my faith i started to belive because what if it was real what if all the things they say is true. i need to make sure i go to heaven. now i believe because i know it is real. i have looked at all the facts and done all the research. many atheists have gone looking for reasons and flaws in the christian faith and try and disprove it. but when they are done they see that it all makes sense. (heard many stories of that). so i encourage you to go out on your own and find out why you dont believe.

True. People such as Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein believed in a superior reasoning, or God. They didn't want to, but they couldn't hide from the "fact." Ever heard of C.S Lewis? The writer of the narnia books? Well this guy was great friends with J.R.R Tolkien and he was extremely intelligent. He devoted a lot of his life trying to diprove God's existence, but in the end, I heard, he fell down on his knees and asked God for forgiveness.

So yeah, there is some truth to what you say. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> I'm reading through Mere Christianity now, he has some great reasoning for why God exists, even in the first 3 chapters. I'd encourage everyone to read it.
Look the truth is that the bible was written by a bunch of intelligent scholars. They were the only ones alive during the time that could read and write accurately. Having such a skill over the simple peasant, why WOULDN'T someone with writing skills take the advantage of writing an intricate story story in order to stop people from doing bad things. Since Religious leaders and the church in general was the leading governing body in the past, it makes sense.
(stop killing other people because its bad! Because the BIBLE says its bad!)
Before you argue my point, do some studying. Religion was preached and told to the people, most people in general could not read or write and therefore who knows whether the bible preachers were telling lies or not. Only the scholars knew.
Stating that "man has been given dominion over them(other lifeforms). God has specifically said we rule over them." My friend, this is the biggest red-flag that proves the bible was written by man in favor of man's power. Stating that humans have a Dominion over all lifeforms sounds all just like a simple excuse. We are more important because?... So the squirrel I just ran over and mashed into the ground does NOT have a soul or importance in this world as much as a human does? Sorry it just doesn't make sense. And like I said, it further proves my point about church worthy figures writing the bible and about the evil punishments of going to hell and all being amde up.
*Basically Church had power of people *People Rebel against Church *Church creates a book that will tell stories and to regain control over people by scaring them into believing being a non-Believer or doing sin will be sentenced to lake of fire. *People are scared and believe in bible for fears of hell and sinning. * we are the church, we are your government, you will listen and believe in us or go to hell.
But yeah since this thread is about God forgiving, then Yes, I do believe its possible for god to forgive every sinner.
Though I'm not in real favor of any religion myself, I am a baptized Catholic. The best way to put this is that I really would rather not get myself into too much religion for as far as I've seen, Religion is in general, to blame for much of the world's people issues. I do believe in a creator of this universe however I don't see how a god would favor any one type of creature or personal belief of someone over another. So what if Lisa believes in Buddhism or if Jeff is a mormon. If god created us from clay as you pointed out than I would find it unlikely he cares about what a certain human is thinking or believing.
I can tell my guineapig to only poop in one corner (guineapig representing human and I representing god) my guineapig will not listen to me and poop everywhere, does this mean the guineapig has sinned and that I shall not feed him for a a day to punish him? Or maybe the guineapig doesn't understand that I provide him food and shelter. Maybe he thinks things just come from my godlike Hands. Since he may not want to believe that he is being supplied with essential things, does this mean he doesn't belive in me? He shouls be punished?
Cyborg your not exactly bowling me over with hard evidence that they definately adapted it. You're merely saying they could have, or had plenty of opportunity.
Basically denying that their is a God that could possible hold them in check if they tried. Your entire arguement is based around the idea that God doesnt exist.
In the same way though, my entire arguement is based around the idea that God does exist. You cant prove yourself right, I cant prove me right, so whose to say whose arguement is stronger?
EDIT
Ah okay legion, I always wondered how you got on. I find it fascinating that their are actually people behind these words in the forums, and hearing about real life problems always brings it home to me. no, the squirrel does not have a soul. it will not go to heaven or hell when it dies, it simply dies. it came from the earth, it will return to it. we came from God's hands, he breathed life into us, and a soul, we shall return to his hands.
That is no excuse to go around killing every animal you see, as part of God's creation they should be respected and cared for, but they are not any better than humans. Humans are above even Angels. you can say whan you like about the bible being written by clever people, i will tell you it was written by ordinary fishermen and tentmakers. you will never convince me, and i doubt i will ever convince you, so if you want to keep talking about it, you can do so without my input.
