Also seems to be happening when I use alien melee attack that hits someone, or alien hits me with melee attack.

I have the exact same problem, each time i shoot with the shotgun, the game stops for a split second. Otherwise game is running really well 200 fps on empty map, drops to about 100 as lowest while playing.

It works correctly for me. Tested with lmg, pistol and shotgun, all perfectly centered. Im using my selfmade dot crosshair.
Theres however separate problem with the crosshairs. If you look almost straight up or down, your view and crossh… -
Interesting.
I've had mouselag problems since they changed something about input back in beta, more than a year ago. Now, I just started to play again after a 4 month break, and first build I played was 251. The first thing I noticed was… -
I really hope the devs would finally look into the networking side a bit. A game with engine from 1998 and much faster moving players does a better job when it comes to delays. Obviously theres always a delay when playing over the internet, however …

Yes, yet useless waste of time to capture something that is present 100% of time on ns2 regardless of the performance of the client and server. The amount of delay between what happens on different clients is simply too large, and … -
Even simply looking at player quickly rotating 180 degrees and pressing mouse1 will show you the problem instantly. You dont really need a video for that. It has nothing to do with player moving speeds making it more noticeable.

Its quite obvious that the mouseinput is laggy/has issues after playing for example quake live. It gets progressively worse as the round goes on due to performance drop, but it doesnt feel that great in early game either.

imo the v-sync that cannot be forced off is a lot bigger problem. Good luck trying to do anything usefull when fps switches between 60 and 120 when moving mouse slightly.
-
I always liked the NS1 way of having quick weapon switch times but longer reload times, instead of fast reload and slow switch like in NS2.
-
Ns2 will completely disregard keystrokes if the fps gets too low. Especially noticeable with shadowstepping more than once due to the particles, lerk flapping when lots of enemies on screen and exo miniguns due to the amount of particles. And also l…

Mouseinput overall feels quite laggy in ns2, it was fine 5-6 months ago but some build around that time completely ruined it for higher sensitivities.

Im running Nvidia gtx 580 and i7 2600k @ 4.8ghz. The fps drop happens even in a map that consists of nothing but a floor and is completely empty otherwise, in last build it would be easily 200 all the time, now its about 120-130.

Same problem here, lost about 80fps early game/alone in empty map and it drops to unplayable levels in combat.
