The Wagoneer is awesome. My grandparents used to have one and it was great. Loved the way you lower the rear window with the handle, it always broke <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->

At least i think it was that car....

Hellbilly that most definitely was a Wagoneer, a common problem that was.

My latest project: restoration of a 1950 Schwinn Black Phantom, born on 09/11/50.

    I heard insurance rates for the new Mustang are cost-prohibitive. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

They most definately are, and are over-rated in the V6 category. Even the 300M runs quicker.. but then most buy it for the looks not the speed if they get a V6 model.

V6 or V8, it's for the looks. You can get a 300ZX TT for less, or a '97 Supra for that price. Both of which will stomp the crap out of the V8 version of the most recent pony-car.
  • DepotDepot The ModFather Join Date: 2002-11-09 Member: 7956Members
The insurance rates though are high though because they're a high theft item.
  • CyndaneCyndane Join Date: 2003-11-15 Member: 22913Members
Oh yes, Supra... 96... twin turbo... is very hawt and will smoke any V8 mustang out of the box. :-)

gt mustang has some torche to it, doesnt handle as well as a supra because of its bulk but is a sweet ride none the less. IMHO looks friggen sweet. Ford has really came along in the past 2 years ,300 horse power stock (before removing gonvenor) for 24k and new breaks body style and handleing, tranny, and engine design

oh and in other ford greatness (rare until recently), i saw the Ford GT today, and the engine in that thing is just, wow.

    *edit*

though i still wanta get a toyota pick up truck instead =P

    edit

maybe id get a WRX if i was lookin into cars though, it just handles well

However, 1992 was one of the last years required for all automobiles(to not have emisson controls), I stated one of the last because some companies adopted it earlier, example honda 1977, toyota 1980.  <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
actually in 1981 the government started requireing emission controls/components on most vehilcles under 8500 GVWR, before 1981 all vehilcles had to have on them to pass smog (component wise) was a gas cap, now vehicles which come equipped with the following out of the factory must still have it installed to pass the government emissions. EGR, Cat, AIR, FIR, and gas cap (unless u live in Cal) In 1996 all vehicles were required to be OBD2 compatible so that all smog was done via computer controls and those components were no longer required if the vehicle met certain government standards of emission controls.

Much as I like the Stang, their interior seating has never been suited for my large frame. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> And yeah, The Shelby GTs were hawt.

    I was wrong...

  • DepotDepot The ModFather Join Date: 2002-11-09 Member: 7956Members
'89 was a very good year ... I had a 1989 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer Edition prior to my Lexus (pix are somewhere in this thread).

Depot is correct, the late 80's are what spawned the uber leet cars from japan and europe having inline 4 cylinders and V6/Inline-6 that matched or out performed their V8 counterparts in states.
