How the hell are you reading into it that it does?

    1) The end of it all will come before the end of this ethnic group.

    2) Nobody, except for the Father in heaven, knows EXACTLY when the end will come. (The day, etc)

    1 Says generally that A will come before B. 2 Says that God in heaven knows specifically when A will happen.

    I don't even see this one on the lists of '1001 irrefutable bible contradictions' that end up being nothing more than out-of context crap. So, if you please, show me the logic behind your train of thought. Try as I might, I just can't find it. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Don't let him get to ya Lego. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    He just interprets things differently - remember you ARE a believer and he isn't. You read the Bible as I do, believing it to be God-inspired, while he does not.

    I do agree though, Cyndane - it's a pretty weak "contradiction" argument.

    If something like this comes up as a contradiction then you simply will never be able to even consider, perhaps, maybe, the possibility of the Bible being true. To be honest, I believe you are over-analyzing the text... but this is just my opinion.

    For you, lego, have a look at 1 Timothy 6:3-5 - Be sure not to get caught up in idle chatter. The things of God are not the things of men, there is fleshly wisdom and spiritual wisdom. Maintain your position on the high ground and argue with boldness and love. Remember, no one has ever been argued into heaven, we aren't here to convince any non-believers but to uphold God's truth. We are to correct misconceptions, again with love, and spread the word of hope.

    For you, Cydane, I would encourage you to stop taking everything with a grain of salt, perhaps a good approach would be to get away from the Bible and just humbly come to God... assuming he is there and listening. I'll pray for you, because you're a nice [EDIT]girl[EDIT] and I wish you many blessings. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    And considering that scholars in general take everything they see and hear with a grain of salt, especially when it comes to supernatural things, don't expect her to stop that any time soon.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Why do they do it? Because in the end it's always a case of faith instead of evidence for any religious discussion which, by it's very nature, is unreasonable. However we Athiests continue to point out the flaws in the 'logic' which is being used to write the laws and choose the values we should live by and so rather than agree and say "yes, this doesn't make sense, it's god. Either you believe or you don't." they come up with lots of evidence.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    Not all people who understand such 'flaws' in a literal interpretation (of which there are many) are always atheist :/ I can ascribe some of the way I think to God, but I don't need to defend a story or parabel that was never meant to be literal with "this doesn't make sense", because it always makes sense in context with people of the time. IE Revelations and the Roman Empire.
