Worst movie I've seen? Mouse Trap (UUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!)

Coming in second: Austin Powers Goldmember (didn't see the first two; I'd assume they'd rank somewhere on this list too)
Other bad ones: Zoolander; Dude, Where's My Car?; Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (was a disgrace)

Edit: Hah, forgot Just Visiting. This is probably second-worst.

Kate and Leopold. Directors-"we have to make this movie 'cool' in 4-5 years. I know, she'll be a 'mac expert!' Nobody uses macs.. Say, what's the newest mac? G4? Let's say she's looking up stuff on G5's, yeah! that'll sound cool! Now, we need a few horses, an english guy.. Hey, we're ready to film!"

Dude, where's my car is hilarious. Kinda seems to be a play on words from the Big lebowski movie. /me shrugs.

I think I have a three way tie for worst movie ever. Pearl Harbor, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, and Ballistic (the one with Lucy Lu and Antonio Banderas).

There are 3 movies that tie for worst movie ever: Keeping the Faith, Mystery Men, and Zoolander.
You may have noticed that all of these movies have Ben Stiller in them. This is no coincidence.

And then there was Plan 9 from Outer Space. A movie so bad that it's actually extremely good.

- yep, Battlefield Earth -- had potential, but it bombed

- Swimfan -- the psycho chick was just too psycho

- The Core -- sadly, I paid full price at the theatre to see this one

- most of those lame movies where someone gets transported to the future, or someone gets sent to the past (ie: "Black Knight", "Kate and Leopold", "Just Visiting", etc).

- any movie that tries (poorly) to cash in on one successful movie idea (above point especially).

... erm ... that's all I can think of so far. I try to block bad movies out of my memory.

Oh, I forgot!

The Time Machine.

And no, I never read the book for 2001. I imagine it's probably like, way better than that overly, like, commercialized version, that The Man pumped out to get more, like, cash, y'know, right? No. Thank. You. Any book that can produce such a stupid movie is never going on my bookshelf.
• GwahirGwahir Join Date: 2002-04-24 Member: 513Members, Constellation
medhed, you really haven't read many books that go to movie have you? Most novels that become movies are quite good, the movie destroys them. Interestingly the same relationship follows in reverse, if you have a really good movie that becomes a novel, the novel will most likely be horrible.
• MedHeadMedHead Join Date: 2002-12-19 Member: 11115Members, Constellation
In my experience, the book may be better, but it's not to the extreme that the book would be superb, and the movie horrible.
• GwahirGwahir Join Date: 2002-04-24 Member: 513Members, Constellation
yeah, it unfortunately is that way a lot of the time, it's gotten better though, as of late

1) Battlefeild Earth - there is nothing good about this movie. Nothing.

2) The Street Fighter movie (they're making a sequal, can you BELIEVE that!?)

3) Star Wars Episode 1: Ep 2 shat on this, mainly because it didn't feature Jar Jar as much **shudder**
• SirusSirus Join Date: 2002-11-13 Member: 8466Members, NS1 Playtester, Constellation
Yah, You beat me to Plan 9, wow...so awful...it was like, papercups, paper plates and foil... those UFO's gave me teh SC4r3s.

Recent Movies though...eh...hrm... let me think about this one, well, my vote goes for Legally Blonde, never seen it, but the previews are so bad that I wanted to rip out my fingernails...ouch.

Legally Blonde was pretty good, so was 2001 if you could deal with artsy stuff (seriously, what were they thinking trying to make such an abstract book into a movie?).

1) Mission Impossible 2 - I fell asleep during this one, really tarnished even MI1 (which, IMHO is up there with Ronin, Heat, and The Matrix).

2) Die Another Day - They could have done SOOOO much with the starting story line (007 gets captured and disowned by the agency! Holy shiat that would have been a cool movie in itself!). Instead they try to take it from a kickass start to a typical run of the mill 007 flick. No veriety at ALL.

3) A Man Apart - Only 2 action scenes in this Vinn Diesel flick. Thats all you should need to know.

4) Chicago - I haven't even seen it and I already hate it. Just goes to prove money can buy ANYTHING, even an Academy Award.

5) Spirited Away - Ok, maybe it dosent suck, but Im sorry I just can't stand this movie in more then 15 minute increments. IMHO Cowboy Bebop: Knockin on Heaven's Door would have been much better deserving

I actually liked the Cable Guy, but I was like 10 when I saw it soo....

EDIT: MARIO BROTHERS FRIKIN OWNED J00! WHERES DA SEQUEL???
