Ok... I just got back from my Matrix Marathon (Yay all 3 movies back to back)
I didn't go in with any grand theories. My 'money' was vaguely on the Matrix within a Matrix theory, but I was very pleased with the way it turned out. Also glad that the Wachowskis went for a real sci-fi angle with The One instead of a 'have to keep the 2 worlds seperate, he couldn't possibly have powers in the real world'
I must say I quite enjoyed the whole experience. I'm absolutely tired so I'll just post my points, then go crash for 4 hours, then go to a job interview... yay...
- The Battle for the Docks f***ing ROCKED so hard. Just the simple things like ammo runners was great to see (Especially The Kid running the ammo out to the Captains mech. That image for a few seconds was breathtaking) The Sentinels, dear god... I thought the small stream was it and then they broke through and this massive wave of Sentinels.... I love it so much
- Neo Vs Oracle Smith.... very good, but didn't impress me as much as the Docks did... like there were good special effects, but both my friends leaned over and whispered "Dragonball Z anyone?".. I dunno... it was very cool and slightly disappointing in a way... but a great watch.
- "I made it for Neo" YOU GO DIE NOW. That was 20 seconds of sap that wasn't needed.... could have left it with The Architects comments and then the sun... that would have been great, but no... apparently we needed the Sunset rainbow...
- Why the hell didn't Zion have EMPs set up on the roof? Like tiny ones... so they wouldn't reach the actual floor of the docks, so they covered the roof... yeah.. just a suggestion.. I suppose 'they weren't expecting an attack from the roof' would be a fairly accurate and agreeable comeback to that.
Yeah that's me done. I loved every single minute of it, the audience was great and I had a ball.
Also... can somebody link me to that gigantic forum post that guy made about his Revolutions theory? Cause I think 90% of it is wrong. *giggles*
PS: Scythe, stop SMSing me in the MIDDLE OF THE **** MOVIE >_<

Thanks for the post Infinitum. Now I know that there is a god. And their names are Andy, Larry and Charlie.
The BBC are a bunch of idiots. Anybody who bashes this film obviously has their noses too high up in the air.
It's a sci-fi movie, there was very very very little plot holes at the end and all in all it is a superb watch from start to finish. Just enjoy the damn thing... don't psycho-analyse every single inch of it, just sit there, watch it and go "Wow. That rocked on."
It's like bloody 12th Grade English all over again... "Describe Neo's feelings in a 10 page essay." Jesus christ... (I feel like making fun of that guy with the long forum post now)
My response:
"Neo feels he should bash stuff around in a bitchin manner"
9 and 99/100ths of a page to go

OMG!!!!
I loved this movie, so much better than the second one of course. The Docks scene kicked major rear end (of course, anything with mechs fighting machines is killer!) I want an APU!!
THe fight scene with Oracle Smith at the end was cool too. Yes, I will admit (now that you mentioned it) that it was kind of dragonball z, but I think thats what made me get so much into it.
When the sentinals invaded Zion, and they got into there groups (I call them storms), I was amazed at how beautiful they looked, all grouped together. There were so many beautiful moments in this movie (by beautiful I mean as in the horrific kind of beauty, not the sappy ending), the fight in the rain, the groups of sentinals, the whole "Smith Matrix".....
I want to see this movie again, and again, and again, I loved it!
Spoiler stuff
In total, there are three fight scenes. Three. THREE FIGHT SCENES OUT OF 129 MINUTES. On top of that, they had the nerve to make the longest one not even in the matrix. While watching mechs shoot at a hole where robotic octopuses come out is fun for a while, it shouldn't consist of 1/3 of the total fight scenes. The first fight scene, the one with the guys walking on the ceiling for some reason, should have been made longer (in order to make up for the general lack of fighting) or they could have just added more...
Excuse me for liking a little bit of story with my movie, even if you have to think about it to get it.
Damn you.
Damn you all.
Damn you all to hell.
I
I hate
I hate you
I hate you oh so much.

Heck, now if you think about it, Reloaded was touted as being full of action scenes but only about 1/3 of the movie was fighting.
It sucked for me. Maybe its just because I only got 2 hours of sleep the night before, but I only noticed 1 real hand to hand fight scene in the whole movie. And it was between Smith & Neo and lasted 30 seconds tops. I mean really, when I left the theater I liked Reloaded even more simply because it had a ton of kung fu fights. The Zion fight seemed to drag on forever, and pretty much any seen that was predictable lasted twice as long as it should have, and any scene that was interesting lasted 1/2 the time. And seriously MAJOR SPOILER, MAJOY SPOILER Trinity took so long to die that people in my theater started laughing.END SPOILER I just wanted more kung fu, lots more

OMG WHY DOES MY TRINITY HAVE TO DIE!! NO!!! She looks so hot in that leather......... Mmf. Now I'm saddened.
I enjoyed it, it was entertaining, and, in my opinion, I liked the dock war better than the kung-fu in Reloaded.
edit* I want a picture of the scene of NEO sitting by himself at that subway station, don't know why.
I still enjoyed the Dock War. Nothing like mech units fighting an endless supply of machines to liven things up.
I liked it. Then I liked it again. But, I probably won't go to it as many times as I did Reloaded, because it all seemed more cut and clear. After the first time I saw Reloaded, I had very little idea of what was going on, so I had to see it more.
The Smith fight came across as a little cheesy, and I didn't really like the end of it. Not much more I can think to say about it.
The Dock Battle was nice. Somehow it seemed incredibly human, even though all of the Zionites were in machines. Speaking of being human, did anybody else notice how organic the machines were made to seem in this one? Maybe it's something to do with the new relation between the humans and machines.

The opening was just sad. The fight scene against the guys walking on the ceilings appeared to me to be a rip-off of the bank scene in the first one. The fight itself seemed to be replicated from the other movies; the most obvious thing I can point out about that is where Trinity bullet-time kicks the guy. The layout of the area was almost exactly like the bank except smaller. The whole "dominatrix club" was a little overboard to me. At one point, there was a couple infront of the camera where all you see is a chick's boob getting rubbed by some guy.
Truthfully, it seemed as though the Wachowsky brothers did run out of ideas, not only in the fight scenes, but also script-wise. They consistantly droned on about how everyone did everything because of love, and then at the end Neo says it's because "it is his choice." The whole thing was too sappy and not in a way of "titanic love" thing. Scenes carried on for way too long i.e. "dock war and trinity dieing."
The only thing that I liked about the movie was the dock war, even though it carried on way too long, and the Smith battle. The other thing I noticed is that everything went down exactly how the Architect said it would. He said Neo would go back to the source, he said Trinity would die, and now everything's back to normal. The biggest flaw I saw with the movie as a whole was that I don't think the Wachowsky bros. put enough time and effort into making this movie a top-notch high quality end to the trilogy.
Overall Verdict
Worth seeing only if you're a die-hard Matrix fan, otherwise don't waste your $7.
Neo had angel wings at the end, when we saw himself hooked up to the matrix through "His" eyes (you know, the fire vision stuff)
Neo died(?, since we don't know if he did die or not) for the people, as well did jesus! His death allowed all the people still trapped in the matrix (sinners?) to be free!
Train Station = Purgatory
Yep, these are the thoughts of a madman (aka me!)
I'm pretty sure that Neo died. Any time that you have that much light coming out of your body, it can't be good. There was also the "Viking" death thing (floating away on a ship). I'm a little confused about the Oracle being in the crater, though. Anybody want to clear that up?
Did you catch the "wings" that Smith had? Also, what did the bouncers at Hell Club call Seraph? To me, it sounded like "wingless".
In other religions: Deus Ex Machina had a fat Buddha face. It didn't really act like Buddha, though, with the "I need nobody" thing. I didn't see any Gnosticism in play, but that's probably because I know little about it.
Smith absorbs the Oracle and thus gains more power. So he's pretty much on par with Neo now. All the other Smiths don't have the ability to fly and crap, but Oracle Smith does...
The other Smiths only ability is replicating, like a virus.
So when Neo layed El Smack down on Oracle Smith and he exploded the Oracle was left alone unharmed. Thus the rest could be said about the rest of the human's Smith had taken over. They were all alright after they all exploded, but obviously a rather large 'WTH' will abound...
I'm glad they left it fairly open at the end, thus keeping the mythos open to all the little nerds online
Oh god... maybe I should use my free ticket on a movie that's worth it.
I was thinking that the Smiths had a collective mind, but it doesn't seem so with this one. Why was only the Oracle Smith able to fly?

Well, what are you doing reading the spoilers thread before you see the movie!
Anyway, maybe its becuase the oracle has all the knowledge of the matrix, as well as the knowledge of how to fly and stuff like that, thats what made it so special.
It could have been my eyes playing tricks on me, but I swear I could see smith in Bane when they are fighting, like when the lights were flashing.
Yes, I speculate alot. Oh well. More off the wall theories.....
French Guy = Lucifer/Satan/The Devil, becuase, as the oracle put it in reloaded, he was the first of us (the rogue programs), as was lucifer the first angel to fall. Also, his wifes name is pershephone, as in the women who lives in the underworld with Hades. THe programs are the angels, they are behind the scenes running everything. Neo is Jesus, he is the savior, he saves everybody...
Smith, I have no idea how to put Smith into religious context. Sin maybe, how it spreads so easily and consumes all. The people were consumed by Sin (i.e. replicated into Smiths) and Neo saved them by willingly giving up his life.
end my wild theories!
The only problem with Revolutions is it stretched the boring scenes too long and the awsome scenes to short. SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER Like when Trinity dies, you know what she is going to say (I love you Neo! No, I love you Trinity!) but they just keep saying it over and over different ways until your actually hoping Trinity will die already.END SPOILERThe whole movie didn't suck, maybe I have to see it again, but I just didn't like the lack of kung fu and gunfighting.

That's a pretty good theory actually... It keeps it rather simple
So, there is an equation that is balanced between neo and smith, they show smith and neo fighting 1v1 and no one can win, yet there are 10,000 other smiths, so wouldn't the 10,000 beat 1 thus unbalancing the equation?
Why did everything just go back to normal in the end? Why did the machines just be like "OK, we don't have to but since neo is cool and me kill smith you can all go even though I didn't agree to anything"
How is it in the end that there is still a matrix with people in it if the war is "over"?
What happens to all the people in their egg things plugged into the matrix?
If neo and smith are equal, neo dies so agent smith dies, why didn't the dark machine face just stab neo in the head to kill them both?
These never seemed to be explained...
Why is smith the other side of the equation?
Why can neo see in the real world?
Yeah, it's because I don't care about the movie.

Hmm... maybe I'll see it now.
1. My friend wont ST FU until I see it.
2. When I see it I can make fun of it.
3. Gigli and Brother Bear are probably better then it.
