On that last subject of why Neo can "see" in the "real world"
If popular observation has shown the Matrix to be represented by green and the real world to be represented by blue, what does the red represent to fill the RGB pallette? I've only seen it once, and can't seem to decide whether red represents understanding, or the mind's separation from the body, or... ...gah, must see Reloaded & Revolutions back to back sometime.
[edit]Did anyone else consider that infantry volunteer woman with the dual rocket launcher to be equally or more attractive than Persephone? Could just be that I'm wierd, but I prefer bad*** women over most "ooh, I love just sitting around and <i>looking pretty</i>" women.
<hate> I hate you all so very much. At the same moment, I love you for posting these wonderful things. Thank you for making me want to see it every single showing the moment I can </hate>
and yes, I know I shouldn't read the spoilers thread but I like knowing what to expect.
I saw it also, and I think it kicked major ****! Although I loved it, I think I might like matrix reloaded a bit more.....Oh and BTW: Seraph still pwnz all.
I have one question.....Did Neo actually die? /me cries <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
Cuz at the end the little girl asks if she would see Neo again, and the oracle says "I suspect we will someday." Does she mean like what the arcitect said, how they would eventually start fighting again and "The One" would return, or does she mean that hes alive? ------------------------------------ Does anyone know where you could get cool seraph pictures? There was one scene that absolutely made my jaw drop. When Neo and Smith punched each other midair and it slowed down to bullet time, and you saw a lightning bolt trickling down the side of the screen. WOW.

I mean, I was scratching my head when everyone started celebrating. "The war is over!"
Er . . . yeah. But wasn't your goal to free all those people plugged into the matrix? Oh, I guess the architect offers that throw away promise at the end. "Uh, sure. Whoever doesn't want to be here can go." What are they going to do, send out a questionairre?

Also, was it just me or did the frigging floor tiles on that ship figure out that Bane was Smith before Neo did? I half expected that scene to drag on forty five minutes-- cut to Bane, slapping Neo furiously:

I liked it! I was yeah yeah yeah through the whole movie. Some really corny and crappy parts. Trinity took too long to die. That little girl needs a sock in her mouth. Ending was OMG. Sun + rainbow... omg.
Anyway cool stuff:
Dock Battle! Why are you complainging their isn't enough kung-fu!? Guess what people said about Reloaded? NOT ENOUGH GUN FIGHTS!
Neo Vs Smith. They fought in the rain and all dramatic and everything. Very cool. Best part of the fight: when when it all slowed down to a stand still and Neo smacked Smith right in the face! I was laughing so hard. I was like "BAM! RIGHT IN THE KISSER!"

Yeah cause we need everything to be explained explicitly. Some things are better left unsaid. But I'll try to answer:
1. It's obvious that Smith is Neo's rival. Smith is bad. Neo is good. Smith got no hair. Neo got hair. 2. It's like the Demon Hunter. Uh if you don't know what that is: Let's put it this way. IT WAS MAGIC.

Since you brought Persephone up, I thought I would mention it must be pretty damn sweet to be able to get paid 100k's for what totalled maybe 10 lines over 2 movies. *Sigh* My day will come, just you wait, then they will be throwing women at me just to write their screenplays. Honest to God WOMEN!
Back on topic here, the 1st matrix had a balance between gunplay and kung fu, whereas they now have CG so they must balance 3 things. I myself was hoping for part of the war to be played out in the Matrix, I mean like having dozens of other Zion fighters plugged into the matrix fighting it out with the Smiths and helping out Neo. Or something. I just think it would have been cooler to see other people in the Matrix aside from Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity.
On a side note, thank God Niobe and Ghost didn't go into the Matrix or we would have had another crappy Atari made game.

The architech\t believed the only way to achieve peace was to have no rebellious humans and have everyone plugged into the Matrix
The Oracle believed humans and machines could live in peace.
The architect wanted to balance the equation creating Anomlies thus ceasing the rebellion
The Oracle wanted to unbalance the equation to create more powerful ones that could eventually communicate with the machine God (Neo)
Explination of the giant machine head. The giant machine head was the Machine God, Neo was the human incarnation of the Machine God (jesus) the only true being that can communicate with God. The Machine God believed humans must be kept in catvity with no hopes of salvation in Hell (the Matrix) the train station was purgatory, Heaven is freedom (the real world) I suppose. The architect works for the Machine God, the Oracle does not. So bascially the Architect and the Oracle are the mother and father programs, constantly balancing and unbalancing the equation.
On to Neo. Neo's purpose was to reinsert the code he carried into the matrix, Smiths purpose was to destroy all life. Neo was never given a choice, the Oracle and the Architect wound up working together to completely head screw Neo into making the correct choices, remember the two door scene? They both lead to the same place, to Trinity, because that was the only choice Neo could make. Heres where it gets complicated, Smith calls the Oracle his mother, in case you didn't catch this, what it means is when Smith was supposed to be deleted the Oracle was the one who saved him. This seems really strange at first but when you see the end of Neo vs. Smith you understand why, the only way for Neo to make the choice to let himself be killed and the code reinserted is if he lost everything that bound him to the real world, Trinity, hope for Zion's survival, and hope for peace all had to be on the line. The Oracle knew that if Smith grew powerful enough the Machine God would have to call for peace and the salvation of humanity (Old Testemant anyone?) and let Neo be put back into the Matrix. Weah god I hope that made some kind of sense.
The little girl. She is the new carrier of the code, she is the one who basically restarted the Matrix. That's all I can say about her I guess.
Random things. The oracle said Neo would return, ala second comming of Christ. The Oracle told Neo he saw the world without time, but couldn't see past choices he couldn't understand, once he understood the threat Smith posed, he gained the "sight" in the real world, and accepted the "source code" he carried within himself, thus letting himself use powers in the real world. Once Neo understood that Trinity would die "You knew I was comming with you as soon as you saw me" he knew that he could let Smith absorb him and reinsert the code "I know what it felt like....it felt like dying.".
There you have it folks, Neo ended up being the one and he ended up going down the Path of the one just like he was supposed to with the exception of creating peace and salvation for humanity. Bed time for me.

[...] <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> Deus Ex Machina = a god from a machine. Phrase came from an ancient Greek play in which the playwright decided to end the story by having an actor (playing the part of a Greek god) come down onto the stage carried by a mechanical crane, and then having him end whatever onstage conflict was coming to its climax. The phrase is often used as an insult today, a way of saying that a poor writer is pulling something from thin air and using it to just solve everything in the story because he's not a good enough writer to come up with a logical wrap-up himself. When writers use the phrase intentionally, as in this movie or the title for the Deus Ex computer game series, the meaning is different.
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->And Neo dies. Is it that hard to accept? <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yeah he's dead.
I don't remeber any Angel wings however, I think someone is TOO paranoid.
I was one of the suckers that stayed up until 0300 hours to see the damn thing after seeing the first two.
I was <i>very</i> disappointed.
Especially with the final fight between smith and neo. I got the feeling that it could go on forever. Two immortals fighting until the end of time. We'll need more popcorn.
Trinity's death was drawn-out and insignificant. Neo seems to recover pretty damn quickly. I know if my loved one was dead I would be in a pretty sad state.
The train station had little meaning. Seemed to be an excuse to have some boobs being groped in the Merovingian’s club.
And Morpheus seems to be pretty OK after his beliefs had been smashed by Neo. I would've expected him to be a broken man.
Neo ended up being the One, so how were his beliefs smashed again? The train station is where the little girl who is the new carrier for the Matrix code comes from, not exactly insignificant.
The only way the ending comparison could have been more obvious is if they nailed neo to a giant electronic cross in the middle of Zion with a plaque that said "He died and we're alive because of him."

So Neo made the deal of 'I kill Smith, you leave Zion alone'.
I'd say it's a pretty good deal.

Neo can't see in the real world, he can only see the machines and their power.. that's why he stumbled around trying to open the hatch for Trinity, and that's why he couldn't see the poles sticking into her.
It's funny how people can watch a movie and then not understand a single concept eh Inf?
Oh and I got a new theory although its not directly about the Matrix.
Why people hate reloaded and reveloutions.
People who liked the Matrix liked the novelty of it and all the new and strange things that were going on, they had never seen that sort of stuff before and had never experienced that kind of world before, it was all new, we (true fans) on the other hand loved the Matrix because it was new AND because of the Matrix world, and the cool sci-fi comic feel to all of it, we appreciated the story, the visuals, the world, everything about it. So when reloaded rolled around I was excited to get more of the world I loved, to see more of the characters I liked so much, and to just continue to be blown away by the sheer coolness of it, the pseduo-fans went in with their noses turned up and were dissapointed by the lack of "novelty" hey what's this crap, it's the same old stuff, screw this, but we like the same old stuff because that is what we wanted to see, not new tricks and plot twists. When revolutions came about you could see the haters foaming at the mouth, condemning the film before ever seeing it, crying out for twist endings, something new, something unexpected, they didn't want to see the same old Matrix world, they're sick of it, give us humans that are actually AI, make it a Matrix within a Matrix, make it a game, MAKE IT ALL A DREAM ahhh not the same old stuff! So bottom line is there's clear line between people who actually like the movie and people who like shiney new things with plot twists and trick endings, hate on haters no one is forming a band wagon on this trail.
At least in my theater, they showed a public service announcement at the beginning, where they interviewed a stuntman, interspersing the dialogue with shots of stunts from various movies he'd worked on. He then begins to talk about movie piracy, and how it hurts him personally. It's an ad decrying piracy, as it turns out, made by protectcopyrights.org.
Kind of ironic that they're broadcasting this to a theater full of people who just shelled out $10 to see the film legitimately.
Personally, I loved the dock scene. Anything with mechs and MASSIVE guns are cool. And the rocket launcher troops sneaking around shooting the diggers was cool. I also liked how the sentinels flew around in perfectly choreographed swarms. It was amazing how a few hundred mechs held back hundreds and hundreds of thousands of sentinels for so long. When niobe piloted that ship through the maintanance shaft with hundreds of sentinels on their tail was so cool. And watching the 16 yr old kid "try" to pilot the mech was so funny. My favorite part of the neo/smith fight was when the bullet time kicked in and you saw neo's hand slowly punch through the rain drops and then hit smith's face and it distorted and then eo's hand left an imprint. That part was AWESOME. The bit with the guys walking on the ceiling was lame. It was a rip off of the lobby scene from the first movie. It lacked the huge quantities of guns coming out of neo's trench coat and the dozens of military police getting their rears royally handed to them on a silver platter. There was not enough sensless beating up of stupid people. The movie also needed a good car chase scene. In my opinion, car chases are almost as important as kung fu fights. Gun fights come in just behind car chases. g2g, class is over. this is Neo-> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo-->
I think dr.d sums it up nicely. I need to see all three movie back to back sometime.
I still cant belive that there are people who did not like reloaded and revolutions, I guess thats the reason good movies arent made anymore. Just becauase it isnt 90% 'matrix' special effects doesnt mean its bad. Farg.. anger rising...

As my friend put it on the way out, adopting a bad Seinfeld voice, 'Why don't they make the whole base out of the emp?'
Also, was it just me or did the frigging floor tiles on that ship figure out that Bane was Smith before Neo did? I half expected that scene to drag on forty five minutes-- cut to Bane, slapping Neo furiously:
Bane: "MR. ANDERSON! I AM CALLING YOU THIS AND TRYING TO KILL YOU BECAUSE I AM AGENT SMITH! REMEMBER ME? THE ONLY GUY WHO CALLS YOU MR. ANDERSON? AND TALKS WITH THIS REALLY BIZARRE SPEECH PATTERN? ALSO, IN CASE I DIDN'T MENTION IT, THE GUY WHO MOST WANTS TO KILL YOU, AS I AM ATTEMPTING TO DO NOW?!?!?!?"
Neo: "Bane! Wh . . . why are you doing this?"
Still pretty cool, though. I want me a upt.

Cuz at the end the little girl asks if she would see Neo again, and the oracle says "I suspect we will someday." Does she mean like what the arcitect said, how they would eventually start fighting again and "The One" would return, or does she mean that hes alive?

I'm still waiting for my questions to be answered! RAWR!
Please answer?
Did you hear of that Tank/Cypher deal? They took the Tank actor out because he wanted to be paid fairly/more/wahtever think he was paid liek 30k or something) and Cypher got 1 million. However the Hollowood guys decides to blow their money is up to them. Hey wouldn't you like to be paid 1 million for a minor role? :{

Did anyone else catch the name of the giant face? It was Deus Ex Machina; my Latin's a bit rusty, but doesn't that mean something like "Created God"?
Also, it was strange how Hell (the Matrix) was usually more pleasant than Heaven (the real world).
All of the pod people are freed; the Oracle and Architect make the assumption that humans don't want to live in an illusion.
And Neo dies. Is it that hard to accept?

Deus Ex Machina = a god from a machine.
My god.
Freekin amazing.
Yeah he's dead.
I don't remeber any Angel wings however, I think someone is TOO paranoid.
And why do I get this nagging End Of Evangelion vibe?
Rating: 2/5 Bleh.
--Scythe--
Thats for damn sure
First of all, Angels don't have wings.
Cherubim do. Get your Jewish mythology right!! (that goes for all of you)

The Agent Smith that fought Neo had absorbed The Oracle. So Oracle Smith is as powerful as Neo is now, all the regular 10,000 Agent Smiths can do is copy themselves.
Neo = Ying
Oracle Smith = Yang
10,000 Smiths = crappy agents with the ability to copy themselves...
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Why did everything just go back to normal in the end? Why did the machines just be like "OK, we don't have to but since neo is cool and me kill smith you can all go even though I didn't agree to anything"<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Because Smith would eventually become to powerful to be contained in the Matrix, he would have spread to the robot city and even if the robots had elliminated Zion, they would have eventually succumbed to Smith.
So Neo made the deal of 'I kill Smith, you leave Zion alone'.
I'd say it's a pretty good deal.
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->How is it in the end that there is still a matrix with people in it if the war is "over"?

They are simply waiting to be 'unplugged'. Hell they could choose to stay in the matrix. Live in illusion world, live in real world with black sky and no resources....
Make your own conclusions really.

Cause that would stop the 'deletion' of Agent Smith process, I guess... Trust me Neo is well and truly dead at the end of Revolutions. Like Ying and Yang, the cancelled each other out. No more Agent Smith = no more living Neo

Neo is all that is good.
Smith is all that is bad.
It's the cliche 'good vs evil' fight. Neo wants to save everything, Smith wants to destory it
Neo can't see in the real world, he can only see the machines and their power.. that's why he stumbled around trying to open the hatch for Trinity, and that's why he couldn't see the poles sticking into her.
I still cant belive that there are people who did not like reloaded and revolutions, I guess thats the reason good movies arent made anymore. Just becauase it isnt 90% 'matrix' special effects doesnt mean its bad. Farg.. anger rising...
