One of the best things about source is that it keeps all the basic half-life player physics. This means you can still crouch-jump, bunnyhop, and now even stack. I can't wait to see some of the mods for this game.
This happened after someone shot the guy in the head and he hinged on his knees all the way around so he looked like this.
it looks like they actualy did ragdoll witho ut taking it to far.
All of these other games seem to tihnk that rag doll means just that, NO FRIKEN BONES!
It has always bothered me to wath some ones legs bend back and rest on themselfs, it just looks stupid.
here it seems like the bones actualy exist, and you don't get the compatable man syndrome (where the body folds in half).
yes, it would be nifty if they would also put in the ability for bones to break nd such, but this is ALOT better then the usual fare....

The models ingame are actually VERY highly detailed, and the skins are downright amazing- you can see the texture of the clothing and everything. I remember this one hookbar being attached to the leg of the CT, and the skin is so good, I thought they actually modeled it!
Counter-Strike Source looks better Then Half-Life 2 itself.

Well, my biggest problem with CS:S, is that every weapon that isn't the M4, AK, Deagle, AWP, or AutoSniper, or the expensive Shotgun, is officially worthless.
I remember standing against someone, firing the MP5 into their chest, them with a glock- he didn't die until I took out my pistol and fired it a few times into his head.
And before anyone says "This was just a port, you suck"- your wrong. This is CS 1.1 that got ported, with a few of the FEATURES that have come along since implemented. Balance wise, its still 1.1.

Half life 2 will undoubtebly blow Doom3 out of the water. Good development takes time. Don't whine when all vALVE is doing is making a superior product. And CS : Source too! amen brother

That smoke grenade is actually a little disappointing to me. I think all the other visuals have set my expectations so high that I see that and my first thought is "but... where's the wind?" Imagine if smoke clouds didn't just dissipate, but *blew away*. Wow.

Well, I have played Source at a friend's house, on ye olde Ti 4600, and there were some very, very noticable graphical glitches. For example, solid beams of sand would cross through the entire level, originating from somewhere outside terrorist spawn. Also, weapon animations would seize up, play backwards, and keep going, but not always in that order - it was very erratic and hard to play with. I know for a fact that he was running it with DX8 settings. I didn't get a chance to see the smoke grenade because we were only playing for 5 minutes before we got out the Xbox so I could beat him down in Halo.

Personally, I find the smoke effects in America's Army to be the most attractive because the smoke literally blooms out of the canister rather than simply appearing in the area a few seconds after the grenade comes to rest. Also, it looks more realistic than the smoke in most other games.

What happens when you spend 10 minutes rounding up all the barrels from two bomb sites.
Personally, i really like the smoke effects, sure it's not too realistic, but it has a real sense of volume and density to it.

Myself and Sonic spent a while today in CSS not playing CS but finding other fun things to do. This included:
-knife fights in the skybox -knife fights in the smoke from two smoke grenades -double flashbang gunfights (AKA Can't see ****) -naughts & crosses -football
Sadly didn't get any shots of us playing football, but it works like this. In CT spawn you use the archway to the middle area as one goal, and the two walls around the ramp as the other goal, then use a bucket as the ball. When you walk into the bucket it automatically kicks it forward, so we spent a good 10 minutes playing football.
