I actually like what I saw, they changed the recoil system on the guns, now you cant strafe shoot on long distance with M4 and AK or other automatics any more, at least not that easily. The grenades have some sweet effects now, the bleeping sound and the 'hallucinations' with the flashbangs.
Small advice: Don't join servers with more than 10 people max, they lag like hell. I had some good rounds with ping <100.

Its sadly true. Open it, and CRASH. Look at it, crash. Shoot a gun? Hey it worked! No, wait, now its repeating the sound over and over since it CRASHED. However, instead of simply crashing HL2.exe or steam, it does MORE at no extra charge! It crashes your entire computer so it needs to be hard-reset!
These screenshots do not impress (aside from the great quality allowed on sprays). I imagine this is based on computer specs... anyone have some in-game shots from a high quality ATI card?
Secks. Pure secks. The game sucks, but the Source engine... I need new pants.
I started up a local server, just so I could check things out. I spent like an hour knifing milk cartons and tires, pushing barrels down ramps, and watching glass bottles that actually reflect the objects around them.
Oh, and if the bomb blows up at Site A, the baskets catch on fire. But the cool thing is that the fire spreads to other crates and things.
I got 14-40 FPS, but thats only because I have far to little RAM (only 196). But if I slap some more RAM in, my 9800 XT should really shine (thank god I didn't have to stoop so low as to buy CS:CZ).
Edit: <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Do you all have CS:CZ? ATi Half-Life 2 vouchers get you into the beta.
Oh, and runnin around on top of the walls because of an exploit was fun. Stand on a pile of brickes in CT spawn, have someone boost you up, and you can run around in the sky.
Speaking of sky, the 3-D sky boxes are really cool.
One thing I want to know about the custom sprays: if you open the options menu does it still erase? Man, it's actually gonna be possible to distract people with porn sprays (not that I do) with this hi-res capability.

Yes, it's a beta, fascinating. Although, this does mean that it's not so easy to port games as one would have thought... oops! Especially since they have professional valve team working on it... Geh. Wow, you're using cheats on a beta version of game that is designed to test the actual game, not cheat protection! No amount of HA. HA. HA. will ever express my sincere sarcasm and distaste at that [your] situation.
That said, it looks good, the physics aren't amazing, but the possibilities look interesting. I'll have to keep an eye on it. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
can we get some screenies of water effects? I just want to see how awesome their physics is, if at all. Does the water ripple and stuff when you walk through it?
Everyone forgets the reason this is beta is the fact they are basically testing their network strength and a mass delivery of a source based applications. I don't see how random crashing and constant problems are applicable. Oh yeah, "Beta" is so over-used that its almost a cop-out.

but ti does open up some new strategies for plays liek oh say having a spraypaint of an Onos charging, might not fool everyone but in some hectic situations it could make a few rounds go into the wrong target.

The bug occurs because the game tries to force the refresh rate to a value found somewhere in the registry. Don't have CS:S so I can't remember where exactly but it's something like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/valve/(cs-source or HL2)/refresh_rate/....

Delete the CS:Source folder in your steamapps dir. (no it wont harm a thing)
For unable to set mode, disable refresh locking programs.
